Dear colleagues

As many of you know, Vladimir V'yugin passed away on 15 October 2024, which was a great loss for several research areas. "Information and Computation" has agreed to host a Special Issue in his honor. You can see their call for papers here:

https://www.sciencedirect.com/special-issue/318528/special-issue-in-memory-of-vladimir-vyugin

Because of your significant contributions to one or more of Vladimir's research areas, you are warmly invited to submit a paper to this Special Issue. The idea is that a typical paper will be a research paper, but there will also be some reviews and reminiscences.

The submission deadline is August 1, 2025. We plan to finish the review and revision process and make the final decisions by April 1, 2026; the papers will be published in the journal as soon as they are accepted. There is no formal page limit, but it is unusual to have submissions longer than 40 pages.

Please let us know whether you would like to submit a paper to the V'yugin Special Issue, and if so (as we hope), let us know its preliminary title and topic.

Peter Gacs, Yuri Kalnishkan, Alexander Shen, and Vladimir Vovk,
the Guest Editors
