Hello

Thank you for your support and encouragement, Our voices are being heard but we need to build the momentum.

1) We are organising 'Transport City Dialogue – an open platform to share challenges on current transport system in Kolkata, and proposed solutions.

Date & Time : 2nd December 2013, Monday at 10:00 am - 12:00 PM. Venue:  Vivekananda Hall, Jadavpur University

We are bringing in urban planners, environment and health experts from IIT Delhi, CSE, NAPM, ITDP etc. We're looking for active citizens and also experts in architecture(urban planning) and Health to join. For suggestions, please write to  ek...@switchon.org.in.


2) Join the debate with Mr Derek O-Brien, MP, TMC  - the MP has responded in favour of the ban in his blog, after being 'irked' as the issue was  widely covered by the media.  Plz join the debate by visiting Resposne to his blog.


3) We met Kolkata Police (KP) with your signatures (25,000 Nos collected online and offline), and a congestion mapping report + Case on the ban. KP gave us a patient hearing but dint promise any immediate action.


Over the last few months,  'Chakra Satyagraha' has done different events - where hundreds of Cyclists marched the streets of Kolkata, to another event on Gandhi Jayanti where over five thousand people creatively demonstrating how this ban is impacting their lives.
