Before the latest Watch update I could use the weather network app for weather display in my watch, after the update it was no longer available on the modular watch face. I downloaded the weather channel to resolve this issue.
My wife and I have identical ipones (5s) and here Weather Channel weather app only works on wifi. Mine works without wifi. She has deleted the app several times and redownloaded it. She has shut off her phone and restarted. She recently upgraded to iOS 9.3 and it the app still does the same thing.
You can receive notifications from the Weather app when precipitation and certain severe weather events are forecasted in your current location. You can also receive notifications for locations in your weather list (not available in all countries or regions).
I have a device (Lacrosse weather station - C84428) which requires wifi setup through your iphone. The iphone must be on a 2.4g network. The orbi will only connect my iphone to the 5g network . So now the weather station will act as a stand alone with no updates from the NWS since it can't connect to the wifi.
This can't be an isolated situation for i'm sure there are many devices on the market that require a iphone connection through a 2.4g network. How are others fixing this? I'm not wanting to reconfig the Orbi router as suggested in another posts. With many devices coming on the market that require a 2.4G conenction I would think Netgear should address this problem.
Thanks...not exactly. What did work was to reduce power on the 5g and turn off one of the sats (closet to the weather display). The phone went to 2.4 but the weather display still would not connect. Moved the weather display right next to the Orbi router (up stairs) and the weather display connected. The phone was back on 5g. That's why I think there's something wrong with the weather display. Got a note back to LaCrosse. Thanks again.

I never use apple weather on the phone. The few times I tried, I recoiled in horror from the execrable radar. 90% of the time for 9-10 months a year, radar is all I need, since the Puget lowlands are mostly pretty consistent in broad outline despite hundreds of microclimates.
Mine crapped out this morning. I got my town and dash dash degree sign. I deleted the locations I had and tried to re enter them. When I put in the town name, I get a blank screen, Nothing, nada, zilch. And before anyone tells me to restart anything, I did, phone, bluetooth, watch, fitbit app. In addition, I paired and unpaired, deleted the ionic from the app and re added it. Customer service suggested i uninstall and re-install the Weather app, But it doesn't give me the option. It just says install, there is no Uninstall button. So, no weather for me I guess.
I went outside and allowed the GPS to connect for a walk. When I was done I tried to get the weather app working on the watch it tells me no location information and to go to the app to set it up. On the app it has no location so I go in to try to get a location and no matter what I enter no cities seem to be available to choose? Am I doing something wrong?
For a couple of days after I got my Ionic, the weather app on the Ionic would update to match the town I was in, and I did not have to do anything special for that to happen, it was automatic (I did indicate that I wanted the current location weather when I initially set up the app on my phone in the Fitbit app). However today I noticed that it did not update, it kept it on my hometown even though I traveled to a different city a couple of hours away, and stayed in that city for about 5 hours. I checked it regularly to see if it would change. My phone showed the correct town, but this did not transfer over to the Ionic. Not sure if the latest firmware update changed something?
This has been done multiple times. the weather app no longer updates the weather no matter what I do or how many times I sync it with the phone app. it also does not add any manually entered location. the weather app is not working as intended.
Based on my experience you have to have a) wireless set up b) be connected to it and c) have your location correctly specified. With the above I'm able to get the weather forecast for two different location on the ionic.
