Kogito vs jakarta.* - current status

Hi,

I wanted to migrate number of my Kogito projects to Quarkus 3.x, due to announcement of End of support on 2.6.x Quarkus by the end of October.

What's the current status of Kogito migration to 3.x Quarkus? I believe main clash is with jakarta packages for REST etc. I saw Alpha 2.44 on maven artifacts but is it worth trying already?

Hi Jakub,

This has been discussed in the dev mailing list at Apache [1]. We don't have a timeline yet, but the focus is to get move to Jakarta 10 and support Quarkus v3 moving forward.

Thank you for your response. There's one thing that concerns me. I've found some information that 2.16.x Quarkus will reach end of support by the end of October. Have you discussed it with Quarkus guys? It seems to be high concern for companies relaying on Kogito, as there will be no CVE fixes after this date if I understand it properly.

What's your view on this point?

Jakub,

As mentioned in the recent past, the KIE community is moving to
Quarkus v3. The next release will be based on that... we are just
taking a little longer to be able to release due the Apache migration.
