MultipleInstance Process with Kafka Messages

I am wondering if it is possible to use a multiple instance process that uses kafka messaging in it. Current as soon as I add a kafka message to the Mulitple Instance process, it will not compile. I am currently using 10.1.0. I end up with a process variable in the generated code that looks like the following:
