Hey everyone, I've been scratching my head over this for weeks now. So last month I launched this layered campaign setup where I stacked pop traffic sources on top of some display and email follow-ups, thinking it'd boost overall conversions nicely. But when I look at the reports, it's a total mess figuring out which layer actually deserves the credit—last click grabs everything, but I know the earlier touchpoints are doing heavy lifting in warming people up. Anyone else dealing with attribution headaches in these multi-layer setups? How do you even start sorting out fair credit without overcomplicating everything? Last time I tried tweaking models my CPA shot up unexpectedly, so now I'm paranoid. Would love any real-world tips or war stories from folks who've been through this grind.

These multi-touch journeys just keep getting wilder every year. I remember back when most campaigns were pretty linear and you could kinda eyeball what was driving results, but now with all the different sources overlapping it's like watching a dozen conversations happening at once in a crowded room. One thing I've noticed lately is how much quieter the early layers stay in reports even though they quietly nudge people forward. Makes you wonder how much gets missed when we zoom in too hard on just the final step.

Yeah, I feel your pain on that one completely. A while back I ran something similar stacking different traffic types, and honestly the default last-click just killed any insight into what was really moving the needle higher up the funnel. What ended up working better for me was leaning into a more balanced view—kind of spreading credit based on how each layer contributed to the path, especially since popunders can sneak in early awareness without getting proper props. I've found checking out setups like https://www.olneysaloon.com/ gives a decent angle on handling layered routing and signals without everything turning into chaos, at least from a practical traffic management side. It's not magic, but seeing how they layer caps and quality filters helped me rethink my own rules. Still tweaking things here, but it's cut down on some of the guesswork. What models are you testing right now?
