I'm planning to wallpaper a bedroom soon, and I've been debating how much effort I need to put into preparing the walls beforehand. Last time I tried wallpapering, I just cleaned them quickly and then went straight to hanging, but I ended up with some minor bubbles and a few visible imperfections because the wall wasn't perfectly smooth. I'm wondering if skipping proper prep is really the main cause of these issues, or if it's more about my technique. How crucial is that initial wall preparation for getting a truly smooth, professional-looking finish?
