How do you store herbs to maintain their potency?

I’ve recently started drying and using more herbs at home, mostly for teas and a few simple remedies, but I think I might be storing them all wrong. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that my chamomile lost most of its smell, and the mint doesn’t taste as strong anymore either. I just kept them in small paper bags in my kitchen cabinet, which now seems like a bad idea since it gets warm and humid there. I’d really like to keep their potency longer, especially since I’m trying to rely on them more instead of buying new ones all the time. How do you usually store your herbs so they stay fresh and effective?

From what I’ve learned over time, light, air, and moisture are the biggest enemies when it comes to preserving herbs. Funny enough, I ended up reorganizing my whole kitchen recently just because of stuff like this. It started with herbs, but then I realized how many other things I was storing in random places without thinking about temperature or humidity. Now I’m using more jars and containers overall, and it just feels nicer and more organized. I’m not super strict about it, but having a system definitely makes things easier day to day.
