Worthy Brother Knights and Ladies.
Our Past Grand Knight and Past Faithful Navigator, SK John Cathcart, needs our prayers. We received the message below from John this afternoon. Please keep our dear brother John, Lady Sharon, and Lady Paige in your prayers.
Worthy Brothers.
I need your prayers and those from our Brother Knights.
I have been diagnosed with liver cancer (HCC) and have been going through all the tests and biopsies.
I have two tumors on my liver, and they have been confirmed as cancerous, as bad as this may sound it is a couple of procedures that have to be completed. The first one is this Friday, January 24th, this is the mapping procedure where they insert a catheter through my leg to my liver and insert a benign form of radiation and then scan me after words to make sure it went where it was supposed to and determine how much medicine the doctor needs to order.
If this goes as planned, they will then order the correct amount of radiation and schedule another appointment and follow the same procedure as above. It could be 10 – 14 days before the second visit – not sure at this time. Once the second procedure is complete, I go home, the side effects are I will have FLULIKE symptoms for 3 – 5 days, not sure what that means but I guess we will figure that out after the procedure.
I have no symptoms, and my blood work does not show any symptoms, they found this during my every 6-month cat scan for my kidney cancer (which by the way is still in remission).
You and the council and the assembly helped me get through this before and I ask for prayers for this as well.
I thank you in advance for all your support and I will keep you posted as the process moves forward.
Your brother in Christ,
JC
Venerable Fr. Michael J. McGivney, you were truly an apostle of Christian family life, leading all to the generous service of their neighbor. You founded the Knights of Columbus to strengthen the faith and protect Catholic men and their families. You were an apostle of lay spirituality, caring for the needy and the outcast, while you yourself endured a life-long battle with poor health. We humbly beseech you now to intercede for our dear brother, SK John Cathcart, in his battle with cancer. You trusted and empowered lay people in leadership positions in a universal call to holiness, and SK John has been one of those loyal stewards and now needs your help. Please help SK John and his family by asking God to cure the cancer and completely restore him to fullness of health. God, our Father, through the intercession of Fr. Michael J. McGivney, grant the favor we now present. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Worthy Brother Knights and Ladies.
SK Ken Seguin, PGK, PFN has requested our prayers:
Would you be so kind to send out a Prayer request on my behalf, I would really appreciate it.
This Thursday, I will be undergoing a procedure at Moffitt which will
shrink and reduce the size of my liver tumors providing my blood levels are within
range. I humbly ask my Brother Knights, wives, and families as well as the entire
Espiritu Santo faith community to keep me in their prayers at this time.
The power of prayer can move mountains, and I thank you all for your
prayers since my diagnosis two years ago.
God Bless you and your families in the New Year! Thank You.
Love and Peace,
Ken
Mary, you brought forth into our world Jesus Christ, our Divine Healer. In your all-caring goodness, we humbly approach you to ask intercession for our dear brother Ken Seguin, who needs your Divine assistance. If it be God’s will, we ask this day for the gift of complete healing from all forms of cancer. Please comfort Ken and his family during the upcoming procedure. May God’s healing graces grant Ken a life of happiness, health, and fulfillment here on earth; and one day the joy of eternal glory in His loving embrace. Amen.
