Good afternoon Brother Knights and Ladies,

I received an email yesterday informing me of the death of one of our long standing Brother Knight members of our Council and Assembly, Sir Knight Peter Iaffaldano. At age 100, he passed away peacefully July 30, 2023, in Westlake Ohio.

This is let you know that our father Peter Iaffaldano passed away 7/30/23. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also active in the Clearwater, Florida area until he went into assisted living almost two years ago. Please let me know if you need any further information.

I received the following prayer request from Sir Knight, John Papa, for his daughter Barbara who will undergo a medical procedure today.

Worthy Grand Knight

My daughter Barbara will undergo a Blood Patch on her Spinal Cord tomorrow to repair a small leak in her spinal column.  She is admitted at Mease Countryside tonight after having a reaction to a steroid injection at the top of her spinal column.

I received the following prayer request from Fr. Michael Cooper for Sir Knight Ward Griffin who was just released from the hospital.

Gene,

I saw Kathleen Griffin last Mass.. She was the sacristan and told me that Ward had a stroke this past week. He is just out of the hospital and is not ready to see people but he would appreciate prayers.

I received a prayer request from Gabe Seguin for her husband and our Brother Sir Knight Ken Seguin for his surgery that has been scheduled for tomorrow.

Almighty Father, we humbly ask that, through your wisdom, you guide the surgeon's hands tomorrow and the nurses as they administer to him as they work to correct Ken’s medical issues.  We also ask that you bring Ken to a full and speedy recovery.  Grant Mercy, O Lord, unto Gabe, his wife, Jason his son, and his family and friends that they may rejoice in knowing that you are watching over them.  We ask this through our Heavenly Mother, the ever Virgin Mary and Queen of the Knights.  Amen.

I received the following prayer request from Brother Knight Viktor Lewalski for his wife Emily who has been taken to the hospital.

Good Evening, I apologize for the late email.

I am writing you today asking for Prayers for my Wife Emily. We are currently on our 3rd Hospital trip in 3 days. Today we were transferred to Emory Hospital in Atlanta as they thought it would be better for treatment. She is having severe headache and spinal issues but not sure what is up fully yet. We could use some prayers.

I received a prayer request from Brother Sir Knight Ed Amador for his sister Ana, who is having some very serious health issues.

Good evening, WGK-

Placing a prayer request for my sister Ana Amador who is having pelvic pains and had discoloration in her uterus and went in today for a biopsy. She gets the results next week.
Prayers that this is nothing serious and easily remedied by the Grace of God.

I have received the following prayer request from Sir Knight Brian Jones for Jim Watson as he is struggling with some very serious medical issues.

Hi Gene,

I hope you and Karen are well.  Ellen and I should be back in town In early November. 

Could you please send out a prayer request for Jim Watson?  Jim is back at Moffitt as it appears his leukemia has come out of remission.  They are waiting until his vitals stabilize enough to restart chemotherapy.  His wife Laurie and children Brian and  Nicole are with him as he struggles through the pain of breathing as his lungs are filled with fluid.  Keep Jim and Laurie and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.

I received a voice mail message this afternoon from Lady Rita Wolanin telling me that Lady Peggy Gohman found Brother Sir Knight John collapsed in the living room of their home and she called 911 and they brought John to Mease Countryside for evaluation. As soon as I receive any updated information I'll be sure to pass it along.

He was admitted to Mease Countryside Hospital for what is believed to be diverticulitis and is being treated with antibiotics and for pain management.
