Good Samaritan Mission School and Medical Clinic

Good Samaritan Mission School and Medical Clinic Uganda

Spring 2026

Dear Sponsors and Friends,

Father Frank was able to take a trip to Uganda in January/February of this year.

Many exciting things have been happening at the school that we wanted to share with you.

School Performance

The students of St. Teresa-Good Samaritan School, Uganda, once again, have excelled in academic performance. According to the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB), St. Teresa-Good Samaritan Primary School, ranked among the top ten of the more than 300 schools in MPIGI District (South of Kampala City).

Out of the 35 graduates, 14 students passed in the First Division with honors, and the rest passed in Upper Second Division. This is an excellent performance given that we are still a young school compared to many traditional schools in the same category.

This huge success is due to the conducive study atmosphere--well-trained teachers, electricity for night study, good hygiene, dormitory accommodations, sufficient school meals, clean classrooms, a fenced school campus, and other security and safety measures in place.

Father Frank was also able to accomplish some very important and very needed renovations to the school campus.

Teachers’ Quarters, Students Dormitory, and School Church/ Chapel

·       These buildings have desperately needed new flooring. Because of the amount of rainfall and moisture in Uganda, the concrete floors were breaking and becoming a safety hazard. With your generosity, we were able to replace the flooring and outside veranda areas of these buildings with tile which should last for a long time. The walls were repainted and the area made safe for the teachers and children.

School Playground

Because of the varying ages of the students enrolled in the school, we have needed an additional playground area for the older students. We were able to install playground equipment for the older students and renovate some of the existing playground equipment for the younger grades. This will make the playground a safer and more fun area for the children.

Medical Clinic

The Medical Clinic continues to bring hope to the people of the area on a monthly basis. In January over 400 people (adults and children) were treated for a variety of illness including hypertension and diabetes.

Ongoing Projects and Other Concerns

In addition, Father Frank was able to purchase corn, sugar, beans, rice, cooking oil and firewood, while the food was available, in order to offset price increases.

The irrigation for the ongoing crop production was a concern that needed addressed during the visit. Father Frank was able to  purchase 2 fuel water pumps for the school gardening irrigation system to offset the electric power outages.

THANK YOU

Because of your generous donations we have been able to do all of this. Thank you for your support and love and prayers.

Some of these projects were not budgeted but desperately needed done. If you are able to support, in any way, any of these projects, it would be greatly appreciated. Please note whether you would like your donation to go to the tiling work, playground equipment, or food expenses. Any small amount will help.

We thank you for your continued support.

Blessings,

Father Frank

and the GSMS Board of Directors
