KITCHEN FOOD SAFETY HANDLING TRAINING & CERTIFICATION CLASS

Good morning Worthy Brother Knights and Ladies,

Our Council will once again be hosting a SafeStaff Food Handler Training and Certification class on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, in the Gathering Room. For those 32 of you in our Council or our Ladies Auxiliary that attended this class in June or July of 2023, your certification will be expiring at the end of June of this year, and, you will need to attend this class for recertification if you are interested in volunteering in our Parish Center Kitchen. For those of you in our Council and Ladies Auxiliary who did not get your food handlers certification in 2023, you are most welcome to attend and get your certification at this year's class in May. 

If you are planning to volunteer and help in the Parish Center Kitchen or serving food from our portable food serving station within the Parish Center, and will be handling food of any kind in the future for our events, you are encouraged to take this 90 - minute class and be certified and recognized as an approved food handler. We will also be inviting our Parish groups and individuals that prepare food in our Parish Center Kitchen for Pinellas Hope to attend with us. 

Our Council will also be hosting a ServeSafe Manager Class and Certification at a date and time to be determined based on interest shown with a 3 person minimum. This is a 6 - hour course with a 2 - hour exam. This is a 5 year certification.

We will be paying for all of these classes, materials, and books that are needed for our Council and Auxiliary members. The Parish groups and individuals that wish to attend will be paying individually or by the Parish, to be decided.

Recertification - $15 per person

New Certification - $25 per person

Manager Certification - $175 per person

I will be sending out a sign-up sheet to attend this class the first week in February and I will be following up with everyone with a "Last Call" at our Council and Ladies Auxiliary Meetings scheduled for Thursday, February 12th.
