Hello, Koala framework developers!

I'm trying to install Koala Framework, but it not work. 4 days of debugging and no results at all...
2 days in windows platform. 2 days on linux platform....NOTHING

I use one instruction for all manipulations:

Windows:
os 8.1 x64
lamp - openServer (apache 2.2.26, php 5.4.22, mysql 5.5.35, mod_rewrite on, apc on).

1. kwf-cms-demo

First, I try to install cms. I cloned git and saw installation wizard, but DB not create, because has i syntax error in setup.sql - extra semicolon. After correcting this DB install normally. Also in setup was a mistake about the locale, but I have not found how to fix it. I see this after all. Is it normal work? looks like html without any css...see file 1.jpg

No errors in folder kwf-cms-demo\log

2. kwf-app-demo

Second, I try to install app. On install i saw error  "cache_dir must be a directory"... 2 hours of debug file cache/baskend/file.php, setting 'C:\temp\cache' etc and found a solution - ("cache_dir must be a directory" . echo $value). Value was 'cache\trl'. After create folder 'trl' installation comlete (same mistake about locale). But finally app not work, freeze on stage "loading..." see 2.jpg

In kwf-app-demo\log\notfound same in 2 files:

In all my attempts to clear cache I saw error - Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in C:\OpenServer\

BUT extension=php_mbstring.dll ENABLED(!), I see it in my phpinfo....

Working project

I tried to transfer normal working Koala project to my localhost, but see white screen.... manipulations with php/apache log level do nothing.

Working project GIT

I clone same project from GIT and see errors in browser:

Warning: include(Zend\Registry.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\OpenServer\domains\aviashelf1\kwf-lib\Kwf\Loader.php on line 47

I tried to debug this, but not see what zend wants from me, this framework very big =(

Errors, errors, errors... WTF? In Windows system totally fault....

Linux:
os ubuntu x64 14.04 server
lamp - openServer (apache 2.4.7, php 5.5.9 with zend 2.5.0 and zend OPcache v.7.0.3, mysql 5.5.38, mod_rewrite on).

I tried to download virtual machine from koala server - 404 error

Tried to see configuration - 404 error

1. kwf-app-demo

In first attempt in Linux I tried to clone kwf-app-demo. I cloned it to /var/www/html/portal (subdirectory on virtual host), start bootstrap.php, click "setup" and saw an error about permissions.... but after chmod 755 /var/www I saw 500 Internal server error.
I delete all and do it again into /var/www/html (root directory)... 5 refresh times koala wrote me - 500 error
"http://localhost/kwf/maintenance/setup" - see 3.jpg (not found)
http://localhost/ show me list of files, when I choose bootstrap.php - 500 error (after 3-5 calls/refresh from browser). See 4.jpg

Came to web-install in Linux:
1. Enable mod_rewrite set option AllowOverride All
2. Create new virtual-host to Koala

2 yellow errors:
  • apache2 setlocale:
    Locale not installed, tried: de_AT.UTF-8, de.UTF-8, de_DE.UTF-8
  • apache2 apc:
    Extension 'apc' not loaded

APC not supported in php 5.5, Zend OPCache included. Do I need to enable OPCache?

Ok, but if you plan to use apache isntead of the php built-in webserver see
also this:
http://www.koala-framework.org/documentation/installation/local_apache

which error? and what did you have to correct?

the locale thing is only a warning you can ignore safely.

yep, I could reproduce that and fixed it.
https://github.com/koala-framework/koala-framework/commit/f9e4dd862849107fe173baa439e907c4a778aa8e
I hope that is the same issue you had.

oh, that one was missing, I fixed that.

in that case ajax requests have failed, open firebug to see the actual error.

phpinfo in the browser?
I suspect you have enabled the dll only in cli but not in apache.

could be the same issue.

is library/zend/1.10.7 under your working directory?

Oh - sorry. that got broken with the latest update to our website.

seems like .htaccess is not working and bootstrap.php is not called.
be sure to enable mod_rewrite.
To test and debug that I would add output to bootstrap.php (where everything
should be routed to) and exit.
You have to make sure everything ends in bootstrap.php where koala runs.

Ah, and as I've just seen in your follow up mail you managed to fix that....
> 2 yellow errors:
> - apache2 setlocale:
> Locale not installed, tried: de_AT.UTF-8, de.UTF-8, de_DE.UTF-8
ignore that for now.

> - apache2 apc:

you can also ignore that if you have another opcode cache (as included in php
5.5)

> I installed, clear cache (in windows not work)...
...can you send the error you get?

> AND....same freeze error as in Windows... =))))))))
as I've written above, check the request for errors in firebug

cheers,
Niko

Sorry, I mixed up the links.
I use this instruction:

>which error? and what did you have to correct?
SQLSTATE, syntax error near 'Proin eget magna\n  quis lectus bibendum posuere eu quis libero.\n' (not remember concretely)
But find in setup.sql in line 109 - extra semicolon. Change it to dot and it works.

>the locale thing is only a warning you can ignore safely.
Ok.

I change in C:\OpenServer\domains\kwf-cms-demo\kwf-lib\Kwf\Assets\Dependency\File.php and problem is still exist =(
I clear cache.
Ok. Nice.

I remembered that git could not copy the file with name js?v=(numbers). I create "js", because in windows you can't create files with a question mark in the name. Is it normal??? May be an error due to this?

In browser.
I found error and solution. My WAMP (OpenServer) is portable. In this fact environment variables (PATH) not work properly, I previously pointed out the full path to php.exe. I found console in WAMP where i simply write "php bootstrap.php clear cache" and it works properly.

>...can you send the error you get?
Fixed with PATH (run console from WAMP menu).

>as I've written above, check the request for errors in firebug
Nothing =((

>which error? and what did you have to correct?
SQLSTATE, syntax error near 'Proin eget magna\n  quis lectus bibendum posuere eu quis libero.\n' (not remember concretely)
But find in setup.sql in line 109 - extra semicolon. Change it to dot and it works.
Ok, I removed that semicolon.

I change in C:\OpenServer\domains\kwf-cms-demo\kwf-lib\Kwf\Assets\Dependency\File.php and problem is still exist =(
I clear cache.
hm, any error message you get?

>in that case ajax requests have failed, open firebug to see the actual error.
No errors at firebug at all.
Do you see ajax requests with urls ending with /json-data?
Those should load the grid data.

But something interesting - 2 similar POST http://kwf-app-demo/kwf/user/login/json-keep-alive 200 OK 109ms      js?v=1412235554 (строка 1262)
I remembered that git could not copy the file with name js?v=(numbers). I create "js", because in windows you can't create files with a question mark in the name. Is it normal??? May be an error due to this?
That is not an issue - the file is not saved with ? to disk - the only reason for the ?v= is to bypass browser cache.

My last message was about kwf-cms-demo.
And "css-problem" in it is still exists.

After 6-7 days of debug koala web-app demo finally works without errors!!! It was a beautiful trip =)))

Please also fix this in kwf-app-demo (kwf installation can create all folders that it need):
  • apache2 uploads:
Path for uploads do not exist: ./uploads

or using git apply patch.diff (download the gist as patch.diff into kwf-lib)

An apache crash can have many reasons, one thing I have encountered so far and can be fixed easily is a stack size limit:

give that a try, please report back if it helps...

I found that kwf-app works normal in apache 2.4 and php 5.5 (opcache enabled). With apache 2.2 and php 5.4 (apc enabled) httpd.exe is crashing...

detects automatically if apc is enabled, in Kwf/Cache/Simple.php  line 34 we check using extension_loaded('apc') if apc is available.
for some reason this doesn't work correctly for you.

Notice that apc doesn't work with php 5.5, as that brings it's own optcode cache.
However php 5.5 doesn't have a cache that could be compared to apc user cache.
you can however use apcu extension - which has a emulate-apc api mode (enabled by default)

or, you don't use apc at all. That also works without any problems however you won't have best possible performance (which is not such an issue for local development)

My download method:

I search on files where you did changes. They haven't lines that you add and error shows that too.

>for me it works. line 27 of the patch is the last line, verify the contents of the patch.

What I did:
1. Download gist in zip-file
2. Copy txt-file from zip
3. change filename.txt to patch.diff
4. put file to kwf-lib
5. run console and cd to kwf-lib dir
