Hi all,

I'm using knxd quite a while now on my RPI device.

Last compiled version is knxd 0.11.17

I think when I compiled this version and started using it , it broke the knx IP tunneling mode (I guess)

Since I only use this mode to configure additional RF devices through ETS5 , I just started to notice this isn't working anymore.

Since knxd is used in production (in my house) I don't want to break other things.

Should I be fine upgrading to the latest stable version? Or can anyone help to assist me troubleshooting why the knxd router functionality is not working anymore? (through ETS5)

When restarting the KNXD deamon , ETS5 picks up the new IP tunneling port, but I can't see packets going through in debug mode

Multicast with KNXD works fine and is used for all other things in production

I'm using the following config options

# configuration for knxd.service

KNXD_OPTS="-e 1.1.128 -DTRS -b usb:1:4:1:0:0"

Probably not changed since last upgrading to version  0.11.17

kind regards,

Stijn

Ok,

I've created a win32diskimage of the SD card and started expirementing with updating the knxd software

It seems like I don't need the tunneling mode to work in ETS5. After compiling and installing v12 the RF funcionality in ETS5 works (with multicast)

the downside is that the local tcp connection is broken :-( that's what I use in my python / bash scripts (knxtool local:/run/knx or ip:localhost...)

Before reverting back I tried upgrading to v14 but I needed to switch distro jessie -> stretch. After doing this I was able to compile the new software.

I needed to troubleshoot the USB connection (I needed to delete the arguments because now the software is able to automatically find the correct USB port) and I needed to tweak the UDEV rules one more time to be able to write to the USB device.

I got stuck at starting the deamon and it hung on starting router ....

Then I thought it will have probably something to do with upgrading the distro's and I reverted back the win32image ... so I'm back to square one

I think I will have the most success when I upgrade to version 12 and I would be able to fix the knxtool local:/run/knx functionality

The error was something failed to connect, the listen... it just don't work after the upgrade...

Any help is welcome

thanks
Stijn
