These are some of the Indian laws that most of the people are unaware of:-

·        A female cannot be arrested between 6pm to 6am.

·        A single male cannot adopt a female child.

·        You can walk into any hotel to use washroom or to get a glass of water.

·        A rape victim can get herself examined by doctor without filing a FIR.

·        If an officer refuses to file a FIR, he can be sentenced to jail for a period of 6 months to 1 year.

·        While driving, if alcohol level in 100ml blood is more than 30mg, then police is liable to arrest you.

·        You are entitled to get 40 lakhs in compensation, if your cylinder explodes.

·        A pregnant employee cannot be fired from her job and if she is, the employer can face a jail of utmost 3 months.

·        You cannot be detained beyond 24 hours of police custody , if not presented before magistrate.(Article 22)

·        You have a right to inform your relative about your arrest.

·        You have a right to be defended by a legal practitioner in case of arrest. (Section 340(1) 1976- in case of death penalty
