Tonight at 6:30 at the McArthur Pavilion on the Maryville College campus, Maryville PFLAG will be honoring the Stutte family.  They are the lesbian couple whose house was burned down on September 4th with "QUEER" spray painted on their garage.  Please come by and participate in this celebration as individuals and groups from around the area gather to offer the Stutte's encouragement and support.  ETEC will also be presenting a check from the results of our online donation drive.

MARYVILLE PFLAG HONORS THE STUTTE FAMILY

MARYVILLE, TN, OCTOBER  5, 2010: Maryville PFLAG and the Maryville College GSA will be honoring the Stutte family on Thursday, October 7th, 2010 at McArthur Pavilion on the Maryville College Campus from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.  Carol Ann and Laura Stutte were the victims of an apparent hate crime when their home was burned to the ground on September 4th. Join representatives from many local organizations, including East Tennessee Equality Council (ETEC), Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, Knoxville Human Rights Group, and others, that have participated in donation collection and relief efforts.

ETEC has collected hundreds of donations from around the world and will be presenting a check, in excess of $10,000 to the Stutte family representing the total amounts collected from our online donation drive.  Food will be available and attendees are requested to bring a dish to share. Drinks will be provided.
