TM> I think Blogging Etiquette would be a fun topic!
First, thanks for your suggestion, and please accept my apology for my
delayed response.
I'm not opposed to having this be a topic of discussion, but frankly I
can't think of what I would cover if I were given the assignment to
be the presenter for such a discussion. What kind of things do you
think would fit under this topic? All of us might have opinions about
it, but are there any real authorities on it? Blogging, it seems to
me, is a pretty self-governing activity and the range of permissions
bloggers give themselves is all over the board.
Here are a few thoughts I have about what might fall under blogging
etiquette.
Am I required to respond to all comments on my blog?
Does someone's linking to me obligate me to link to them?
How is blogging etiquette related to blogging ethics, or is it?
Is moderating comments impolite?
On what authority or practical concerns are these "rules" based?
What is the penalty (or consequences) for violating the rules?
Feel free to add to my list of questions or ideas to help fill in more
about what you had in mind. Thanks.
And while I'm writing again to the group, let me encourage the rest of
you to brainstorm about possible topics that interest you.
