Hi, I have been working in coreldraw for years but recently purchased a Boss Laser which runs on LightBurn. Extremely new to using Lightburn and am having issues when i convert a file over. I am using the lightburn Macro I found online which i believes convers the file to a SVG? Unsure if I have settings setup incorrectly but the image is not coming over correctly for me. I will include two images (first will be from corel draw *everything in my corel files that are black are laser etched away with the laser. Everything white is raised of left untouched) Second image will be how it is being brought over to LightBurn. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a lightburn file. The smaller one is me just copying and pasting directly from having CorelDraw open and pasting into Lightburn. Coming over in the incorrect size but at least showing the design correctly with the two outlines around the 2.

Hi Thanks Marcus, I have been playing around with this all day and am still having issues with how things are being brought over. Is it because I work in multiple layers / stack items when I am designing in Corel Draw?
LightBurn defaults to working in wireframe as it is easier to see all shapes that can affect the output. We do provide Filled-rendering as well, but things can get obscured if they fall behind another shape or object, and become more difficult to select, which can be confusing if not expected.
Ok I have an odd issue. We use coreldraw to print to our laser cutter. (X3 usually but this happens in X5 as well). You can see the issue in the photos below. In autocad the squares are equidistant from the outer perimiter however after importing into corel the ones on the top are closer than the zones on the side. This leads to the kerf of the laser burning through on the top.
The latest version of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2023. Love the new Focus Mode that allows you to edit objects in isolation without losing your selection, and a new breadcrumb floating toolbar makes object navigation even easier.
I find it quite easy to draw with the Live Sketch tool, and especially it allows me to correct the lines easily while I draw them. This tool is like the combination of the brush tool in Photoshop and the pencil tool in Illustrator.
The Perspective plane is used to create three-dimension images. You can draw or place existing objects onto the perspective plane to create 1-point, 2-point, or 3-point perspective 3D-looking objects.
This feature allows you to export multiple pages or objects quickly and easily all at once in the format you need, such as png, high-resolution jpeg, etc. Exporting multiple assets saves you time and makes your work more organized.
One cool thing about this feature is that you can have different settings for your objects when you export them, and you can still export them at the same time. For example, I want my orange object to be in PNG format and the blue in JPG.
Most of the basic tools like shapes, crop tools, etc are easy to learn, and you can learn them from the tutorials. Drawing tools like Live Sketch, pen tool, and others are not that complicated to use but it takes a lot of practice to manage them like a pro.
Another useful resource to learn how to use the tools is the Corel Discovery Center. It covers the basics of editing photos and videos as well as creating graphics and painting. You can choose a photo or video tutorial for your learning.
Actually, I use both. Watching the tutorial and then I go back to look at the specific steps from the written tutorial with photos on the same page at the Discovery Learning Center. I managed to learn some new tools easily.
CorelDraw does offer Email support, but actually, you would submit a question online, receive a ticket number, and someone would contact you via email. They will ask for your ticket number for further assistance.
I also tried to contact via Live Chat, still needed to wait in the queue but I got a response sooner than by email. If you are lucky, you can get assistance right away. If not, you can either wait or type in the question and wait for someone to contact you by email.
CorelDraw offers excellent tools for different types of designs and illustrations. The CorelDRAW Standard version introduces some new features such as exporting multiple assets and multipage view, that make the design workflow more effective and convenient.
The best alternative for CorelDRAW is Adobe Illustrator. Graphic designers use Illustrator for creating logos, illustrations, typefaces, infographics, etc, mostly vector-based graphics. You can resize any vector graphics without losing their quality.
You could get a free version of Inkscape, but the free version features are limited. Inkscape is free open-source design software. It provides most of the basic drawing tools that CorelDraw and Illustrator have. Such as shapes, gradients, paths, groups, text, and much more.
You can double-click to open CorelDraw files on your computer. Or you can open the CorelDraw program, click Open Document and select your file, and click open. One more option is that you can drag the file to an open CorelDraw interface to open it.
Method 1: Use the Freehand tool to create any curve that you want your text to look like, or you can use the shape tools to create a curve shape, for example, a circle. Click where you want to show the text on the path, and just type on it.
Method 2: Select the text you want to curve, and go to the top navigation bar Text > Fit Text to Path. Move your cursor to the shape, and click on where you want the text to be. Then right-click on your mouse, and select Convert to Curves.
For simple shapes like circles or rectangles, you can easily remove the background using the PowerClip. Draw the shape on the image, select the image, and go to Object > PowerClip > Place Inside Frame.
where can I get more in-depth tutorials for Corel draw 2020 ??? I love this review that you put together but I would love if you could find and list either courses start to finish tutorials from YouTube
