You may need to join this adoption group to take the class.  I have belonged to it for over a year because I have an adopted grandmother, but I learn many good search techniques from it too.  Try clicking on the link to see what you need to do if you are interested in the class. 
    We (my brother) tested for Y at FTDNA ten years ago, and we have nothing but praise for it.  However, we have a rarer surname and had a robust Rootsweb Knowlton surname list back then.

DNAAdoption is proud to announce our new "Advanced Y-DNA Class" developed and facilitated by Gale French.

This class will allow you to better understand your Y-DNA details and how it affects your genealogy.

Y-DNA STR and SNP testing (including Big Y) is the process of getting your Y-Chromosome results for comparing them with other testers.

This self-paced 3-week course will show you how to find other people who shared an ancestor on your (or another relative’s) patrilineal line. 

It will introduce you to the results and tools that allow you to analyze your Y-DNA.

The curriculum is based upon the Y-DNA testing at FamilyTreeDNA.
