Hi all,
First of all, apologies for the long silence on this mailing list. A lot
of things have happened at Knowledge Pixels during the last months and
years, and we will make sure to update you a bit more often on this list
going forward.
Our latest news item is that we are happy and proud to announce that we
are part of a 6-month German-based project on implementing FAIR Digital
Objects (FDOs) with nanopublications. More info here:

Standardised data exchange between data rooms: FAIR Digital Objects in
practical use 🔗
MISSION KI is driving data exchange between data sources and data rooms
with hashtag#FAIRDigitalObjects (FDOs) and is launching a new
hashtag#Förderprojekt for this purpose. FDOs are an innovative
technology for exchanging metadata and making data interoperable.
Building on a first project on FDOs last year, we have assembled a
strong consortium of 18 partners. The project is coordinated by the GWDG
- Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen.
For the individual work packages, Knowledge Pixels, IndiScale,
University of Bremen and nextlearning e.V. are on board. We are very
much looking forward to working with all partners.
The consortium is now starting to develop a modular FDO service
architecture. This is intended to provide tools for companies to prepare
and offer their data stocks in accordance with the FAIR principles
(Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
🎯 FAIR Digital Objects have many advantages:
✅ They are machine-readable, uniquely identifiable data objects
✅ They provide the technical basis for more efficient data use
✅ They help companies meet regulatory requirements
✅ They comply with the requirements of the EU Data Act & Data Governance
Act
For a high-performance data ecosystem, we need smooth data exchange
between data spaces. The use of FDOs offers a great opportunity to
exchange data efficiently, securely and in accordance with regulatory
requirements.
In October, the team will make the software package available as
open-source.
