Hello everyone,

I would like to remind you that the deadline for proposing a
contribution for Knowledge Federation 2010 is in three days [1]. At
this stage only a one-page abstract is required.

Dear Dino,

I would like to send you the two paper abstracts for KF 2010, one is about the Webble World and the other is
a new research topic. I am now planning to attend the workshop together with Micke Kuwahara, the chief
developer of Webble World.

Best regards,

Yuzuru

Park's abstract.

One of the primary aspects of collective intelligence is conversation.
Conversation takes many forms, from interactive storytelling, to an
emerging lingua franca of structured conversation, Issue-based
information systems (IBIS) and related forms of contested discourse.
Federation of conversation in its many forms is seen a one of several
important vehicles for improved collective intelligence for
sensemaking and for decision making. In this paper, I will sketch an
architecture for federation of conversation, structured or otherwise.
This architecture serves as a boundary infrastructure on which
varieties of contributed federation tools can be combined to
facilitate a range of human participation, from tweets and blogging to
structured discourse. This architecture starts with federation of
structured discourse, but is extensible to accept additional functions
for other forms of sensemaking conversations and acts.

Dear knowledge federators,

I would like to purpose that it has been argued that the difference
between
knowledge and information lies in the subjectiveness that separates
the former from the later. This subjectiveness of knowledge marks the
point of view its holder has on its environment to value its
functionality.
The diminishing determination of the point of view by fixed social
roles
in combination with an accelerating rate of change in the
technological
environment opens up an increasing amount of contingency.
In this work I will explore the spectrum of knowledge tools as an
environment
to support a diversity of points of view as well as their capacity to
support
condensation. I will begin with the search for a proper methodology.
Next, existing knowledge tools are grouped into categories and for
each
category one exemplary tool is examined. In the last step, I will try
to
identify general principles that turn shared information spaces into
useful
knowledge knowledge tools.

Best regards,
Arnim
