Dear group members

I would like to introduce my research project which I am conducting in
cooperation with Loughborough University to you. In order to finalise
my Master’s degree, I am researching about Knowledge Management within
the knowledge intensive industry in the UK and Germany.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could spare some time to fill out
the enclosed questionnaire. By doing so, you would not only help me to
accomplish my degree but also gain insight into Knowledge Management
research and practices. In addition to this, I would be more than
happy to share the results of my research with you, should you wish me
to do so.
The results of this study will help shed some light on the structure
and behaviour of knowledge work, in the context of different cultural
backgrounds. Furthermore, it will be investigated as to what influence
national cultures have on knowledge work and the effects these may
have on management issues.

Your answers will be collected anonymously and will be kept strictly
confidential. No individual responses will be used within the
presentation of the results; instead a summary of all answers will
display a broad picture. Moreover, the collected data will only be
processed within this research project and as a part of my Master’s
dissertation. It will be stored in a secure place and will not be
accessible to anyone else, other than the researcher. After finishing
the research project and submitting the finalised dissertation, all of
the data will be permanently deleted.

Please note that taking part in this survey is absolutely voluntary,
however, I would be very grateful if you could spare 10 or 15 minutes
of your time to answer the 17 multiple choice and rating scale
questions of the survey. The questionnaire is divided into three
separate parts: the first part of the research focuses on demographic
data collection; the second part is going to investigate your attitude
towards culture and the prevalent value system; and last but not
least, the third part is research for Knowledge Management
integration, practices, and tools within your company.

The questionnaire is available in English and German. It would be
helpful if you could complete the questionnaire by 21st of August
2011.
