We are pleased to announce that the online application for the KU-STAR (Kyoto University Short-Term Academic Research) Program for India 2026 has officially opened today.

The KU-STAR Program provides an exceptional opportunity for undergraduate and master’s students from India to engage in 53 days of intensive research under the guidance of our world-class faculty.

Program Highlights

  • Period: 19 May to 10 July 2026 (53 days)

  • Host Laboratories: Choose from a list of 101 laboratories covering a wide range of academic fields.

  • Goal: Designed for students with a strong desire to pursue a Ph.D. at Kyoto University.

  • Support: Kyoto University will provide and cover the cost of accommodation.

Important Note on Financial Support

Please note that for the 2026 program, no daily stipend or scholarship (e.g., 5,000 JPY/day) will be provided. Participants are responsible for their own airfare, visa fees, insurance, and daily living expenses.
