I updated from Cura 5.1.0 to 5.2.2 this morning and some of my plug-ins (autotowers generator, configuration shapes) went missing. I can see them in browser on the cura marketplace when I'm not logged in, but as soon as I log in, I see "The given author does not exist."

Welcome to the Ultimaker Community ?

You might have a software subscription linked to your account, that only shows you verified plug-ins.
Plug-ins that have been checked for security flaws by an external party.

Don't tell your IT admin, but you can still download the plug-ins by logging out, installing them, and logging in again.
Does that help you get unstuck?

If that's not it, do you mind sharing some screenshots of what you are encountering?

I think if you create your own private account (free) that doesn't have enterprise (is that what it's called?), you can log into that, install what you want, then log back into the enterprise account. I assume you have to use a different email for this.

You don't have to download them from github. You can use the "marketplace" button in cura. But you may have to log out first because if your account email matches a company that is paying for enterprise (I'm not sure if that's the right name) cura then this locks down some plugins. But just log out first. Or log in using a different account with a different email not associated with your company.

I am on a UltiMaker Essentials account with my e-mail and Cura version 5.6 (MacOS). I only see 12 plugins when logged into my account, both through the application and online when logged in. There are 57 when I am not logged in. When I try to download a file when not logged in I am forced to login to my UltiMaker Essentials account and dropped on a page that indicates "the given author does not exist," unless it is one of the 12 plugins that I can see when logged in (in which case it is successful).

Using the workaround described by @rudowitsch, downloading from GitHub, works. But, I think there is a bug in Marketplace. @gr5 @ahoeben @MariMakes

Are you trying to download them from the website or the in-app marketplace? The website always requires you to log in, it installs it by adding it to your account. If you're not logged in in Cura, the in-app marketplace will let you install plugins locally, ignoring the UltiMaker account process entirely.

The official workaround is to log out in Cura and then install the plugins from the Marketplace inside Cura. Yes, you can install plugins from the Marketplace dialog inside Cura without being logged in in Cura, just not via the Marketplace website. Finally, it is up to you if you want to log back in again in Cura. Personally I am never logged in in Cura.

The Method series is designed for the high-quality production of tools and end-use parts. Their actively heated build chambers, direct drive, and rigid metal frame make it easy to 3D print a specific range of engineering-grade materials with high repeatability and dimensional accuracy using 1.75 mm filament.

Ultimaker S3. This release includes a new profile for our latest S-line 3D printer: the
Ultimaker S3, which we officially announced at TCT today. Learn more about the Ultimaker S3 by reading the blog.

Ultimaker S5 Pro Bundle. At TCT we announced the Ultimaker S5 Pro Bundle, which is fully integrated into this version of Ultimaker Cura, as well as Ultimaker Connect and Ultimaker Cloud. An Ultimaker S5 connected with a Material Station will show all available material combinations in the configuration selector. Learn more about the Ultimaker S5 Pro Bundle in the blog.

More 3D file formats. Ultimaker Cura 4.3 is compatible with even more 3D file formats than
before, allowing you to integrate CAD software, 3D scanning software, and 3D modeling software into your workflow with ease. Natively open Collada, GLTF, OpenCTM, and PLY formats, to name a few. Downloading plugins from the Ultimaker Marketplace brings in support for many more.

Align faces to the build plate. Orienting your models with the rotation tool or the lay flat tool can be a hassle with complex geometries. This new time-saving feature lets you select a face of your model to rest on the build plate, so you can get the orientation you need quickly and easily.

Support infill/interface line directions. Improve reliability with more precise control over certain aspects of your print. Choose the angle that support-infill and interfaces print at, thanks to a contribution from vgribinchuck. Input a set of angles you want lines generated at, and these will be placed sequentially throughout your 3D print.

Print small features slower. Smartavionics has contributed a setting which recognizes small perimeters and reduces print speed in order to boost the reliability and accuracy of small printed features. This is especially useful for small perimeters such as printed holes, as they tend to get ripped away from the build plate easily due to their low contact area.

Easy selector for z seam positions. Z seams are now easier to position on your model, thanks to a contribution by trouch. A drop down selection box has been added to custom mode, giving you a list of presets to place the z seam on your model.

It would be really helpful if you could let us know what installation directory you used previously (which did not work) and what you changed it to (so it now works correctly). That way we might be able to fix issues for others who have the same issue you had...

The same thing happened to me on Windows 10 Pro 21H2. Cura originally installed in the "C:\Program Files\Ultimaker Cura 5.0.0" and it would not start. I uninstalled and reinstalled to "C:\Ultimaker Cura 5.0.0" and it worked perfectly.

So i ran into this exact problem and tried installing it to "c:/Ultimaker Cura" instead, that did not work, found out in another forum it is being messed with by my multiple displays, it was trying to open on the right display instead of the middle one(main). I just changed the main display to the one cura was trying to open on(right) and BAM it opened just fine. But once its open make sure to go to settings>general and uncheck "restore window position on start" before changing your main display back to normal position.

I am having the same issue of launching Cura v5.1 and getting the locked up white screen of death! I tried the above suggestions, for the most part it worked until it came time to "sync" the the white screen of death. I searched for log files and only found 2.

Hi Guys, I'm having the same problem on my MacBook Pro. Installed but it will not launch.
I'm going to remove then reinstall to see if that helps as it looks like this may have assisted others then I'll report back with log files etc.

I'm running 3 monitors. When I disable two, I can open Cura 5.2.2 fine, and this seems to be the only way to open it. However, I can then re-enable my other two monitors after opened it with only one enabled, and move the program to any monitor I want without issue. Maybe this is already known but I haven't read about anyone reporting this scenario so I figured I'd add.

I am having problems that are similar but mine comes up with a purple box saying this app cant run on your PC.

Now I am using this PC an older laptop with windows 10 on as my HP pavillion has problem with cura and Open GL 2.0. This is because it has an automatic switchable graphics. Intel and AMD catalyst.

I installed version 5.6 of Ultimaker Cura, however the program does not start. I've already tried changing the instalation folder. Logs are created when starting Cura (AppData\Roaming\cura folder), but there are several logs.

Hi, I also ran into the issue where Cura would open with a white screen and be stuck on my Windows 11 PC. I had no issues previously. I am using Cura Version 5.5.0

To resolve this issue, I had to edit the cura.cfg located at C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\cura\5.5

FWIW: Different versions of Windows handle this differently *glares at Windows 11* but if you select a program's item on the taskbar (or its window, if you can see it, the important part is that the window is focused) and press Win+Up to maximise it (and if it's already maximised, it makes it take up the top half of the screen). Also worth noting is that Win+Down will first resize the window so that it's small and the next press will minimise it. So if you have a taskbar icon or can Alt+Tab to it, press Win+Down twice then Win+Up twice it should maximise it on your current monitor. If you have multiple monitors enabled then Win+Shift+Left or Win+Shift+Right move it to the next monitor in that direction.
