I am working in research group at BYU in which we are using KNITRO to optimize a unit commitment model on GAMS.  I am running the model on a Linux operating system.  I requested the one month free trial and received a confirmation email with a text document, but am having difficulties implementing the license.  Does anyone know how to utilize the "academicfull" license from the Artelys website?

Thanks,
Jeffrey Griffiths

Jeffrey,

The trial Knitro distributions and licenses available from the Artelys website are not for use with GAMS.  These are for the full Knitro library distribution (which also includes the Knitro-AMPL interface and the Knitro-Matlab interface).  The Knitro for GAMS product is maintained/sold by the GAMS company.  In order to use Knitro for GAMS, you need to obtain this specific product and a license for this product from the GAMS company.

Hi, Jeffrey,

From my personal point of view, it is also good for you to test your academic models under the NEOS server environment. This server supports both AMPL and GAMS models for Knitro software package with parallel features and time limited version. By the way, the Knitro documentation from Ziena.com web site is for version 10.0 under HTML format but the software in NEOS server is still staying in the version 9.1.1. FYI.

Hope that it is useful to you.

Best regards,
Henry Kar Ming Chan

Richard,

That makes sense.  Thank you for your quick response.
