I used to have an iPhone. I switched to Android a while back. However, when my wife or others message me, Apple still thinks that I have an iPhone, so they still send me blue text messages. Those do not arrive to my phone.
The sender thinks they do, because apple still shows it as sent. But they don't. It mainly happens with group messages. There are long text threads where folks think I'm part of the chain while I'm not.
No. What he's saying is that the online form for de-registering your phone number from iMessage is not working. You never get the SMS from the Apple service. I have the same problem. You can't de-register from the online form, because you never get the SMS.
Ben_Z1, thanks for responding. Regretfully, that doesn't fix the issue. TwistedSage is correct, the message from the Apple server never arrives at my phone. It's not in spam either. I can receive text messages and verification messages from any other service but this one. It's almost like the apple service also tries to send me an iMessage.... (which obviously won't arrive).
If you are not receiving messages from iPhone users, the first thing we would recommend is to ensure your phone number is provisioned correctly so that it can send/receive SMS/MMS messages. Your wireless carrier would be the best-equipped to look into this.
Also ensure that these iPhone users are messaging your phone number and not your Apple ID email address, as this will send as an iMessage and not as an SMS/MMS message. This has more information on this as well: What is the difference between iMessage and SMS/MMS?
Once you are able to send/receive messages with a single contact, try to see if you can receive the verification code to deregister iMessage once more. This may affect your group text messages as well and these groups may need to be recreated so that they are sending you SMS/MMS messages and not iMessages in the group. The 'Group MMS' and 'Group SMS' sections here show how to do this with iPhone: Send a group text message on your iPhone or iPad
I'm wish we could upload screenshots on here. What I find annoying is that it shows up under my settings for iMessage and facetime. At some point a person will get that number assigned to them from att&t , shouldn't matter if it's not currently assigned I should be able to remove that from my settings since I no longer use it.
Go to Settings/Messages/Send & Receive, tap on your Apple ID and sign out. Also go to Settings/FaceTime, tap on your Apple ID and sign out. Next, Settings/Phone/My Number and correct it there. Then restart your phone.
and the number you are trying to edit is the phone number for your iTunes & App Store billing information, and has nothing to do with any settings on your phone. You can change that in your account management in iTunes.
I don't know what to tell you bro other than link a YouTube video of me doing it. Settings > phone> simply shows the number that I do want and use, even if I could edit it that's not the problem number showing.
Everything works and my correct number has always been there I just wanted to remove the additional old number that shows up under" Reachable at". Oh well. Maybe it's my fault for not removing it in the old phone and then backing it up and restoring settings on this new phone but still weird that you can't remove old numbers associated with account.
It will have info icons that give steps to do that I've tried doing but they don't work because the steps are assuming you no longer have the phone but the number is still accessible to you, like if someone ported the number, for me I have no access to phone or that number.
As online abrasives have said, the correct procedure is to deregister with HMRC. You can request this online and if approved they will send you a notice of deregisteration which takes place from a specific date. You state your reasons for wanting to deregister and the final decision rests with HMRC, not you. If successful you go on to your Amazon settings and remove your VAT number. There was no reverification in my own case and you will then be charged VAT on all fees. Hope this helps.
(a) If you are a business that is established in a European Union country and you provide us with your valid VAT registration number used for intra-EU transactions, VAT will not be charged by Amazon on the fees under these Service Terms provided you are not established in Luxembourg, and did not supply a VAT registration number issued by the Luxembourg authorities.
(b) If you are in business and established in a European Union country, but you do not have a VAT registration number issued by one of the European Union countries, then you will be able to provide Amazon with other evidence that you are in business. Acceptable evidence is a copy of a recent corporate tax return or an official document issued by a government agency proving that you are in business. Once your evidence is reviewed and accepted by Amazon, VAT will not be charged by Amazon on the fees hereunder provided you are not established in Luxembourg.
For many Apple device users, iMessage and FaceTime are some of the best iPhone features, enabling you to stay in contact with friends and family quickly, no matter where they are in the world. That said, there are reasons why you might want to deregister an email or phone number from Apple's communication services, so hopefully, the above guide helps you out.

I would like to deregister Enhanced features. What should I do?
You can deregister the features by going to the Registered information of Messages (Enhanced messaging) and Contacts (Profile sharing) on your device. Then, tap More button and select 'Deregister phone number'.
You can also do so on Samsung.com.

I'm trying to find a manual online and I'm not having any luck. I need to know the deregister/reregister procedure for an Alcatel Lucent 4029 handset. I'm trying to move a number from one desk to another one, so we just need to deregister handset 2, deregister handset 1 and then register the number from handset 1 onto the now blank handset 2.
Then you can hang up. To hook on the new phone (or a different number on the same phone) pick up the handset, dail your extension number and then type in the same admin password (0000 default). Note of course you can't move the number till you deregister it from the first handset.
I had an old phone number on my iPhone 8 carrier free. I recently switched to another carrier but I cannot use my new phone number to activate iMessage. Furthermore, I cannot remove my old phone number which still appears on my iMessage settings.
If the phone number that you want to remove belongs to an iPhone that you can't access, change your Apple ID password. This removes all phone numbers from your iPad, iPod touch, and Mac. Calls or messages for the removed numbers won't appear on those devices anymore.
iMessage is a wonderful messaging service that Apple launched in 2011 along side iOS 5 and OS X Mountain Lion. Unlike traditional SMS/MMS texting, iMessages are sent to and from other iOS users via a data network. What's so great about that? Well, it works at 36,000 feet, it doesn't rack up expensive fees while traveling Internationally and it has a ton of other features that traditional texting can't offer.
Even though they are few and far between (at least in my circles), there are those who decide to ditch the iPhone for an Android. In making that transition, it can be difficult to remove your phone number from the iMessages network, resulting in lost text messages once you'e settled in to the Android platform. In theory, all you need to do is deregister your number on your iPhone before switching, but even then, it can sometimes not work. This post will explain how to avoid that headache.

When you deregister a vehicle, you need to hand in the number plates to a number plate provider or to one of the vehicle registration offices of the Danish Motor Vehicle Agency (Motorstyrelse). Your insurance company will be notified automatically.
