"Syriana" And What Kind of Lies the Left is Feeding People

before. I was a fan of the original book, "See No Evil". (Which is a
memoir by an ex-CIA Case Officer.)
Syriana bears no resemblance to the book. None whatsoever. It is stated
as being based on the book. The author, worst criminal of all, put his
stamp of approval on it.
So, where did Syriana come from? Apparently, it came entirely from the
Screenwriter's imagination... and his or her extraordinary hatred of
the United States... and her citizens.
This is the kind of "news" and "information" the Left gets. The film
bills itself as being a film the Left would love. There is no mistake
about that. It hints at oil and the horrible things we will do to get
it.
There are minor truths scattered through out the film. Truths not taken
from the book, largely. And very major problems.
The basic message is simple: Americans are corrupt people, personally
and professionally, and even the most noble of Americans is rude and
ultimately really greedy. They openly celebrate corruption and despise
morality. They will sell their children for oil. The poor Middle East
is suffering because of all of this.
It is enough to make me want to vomit.
Truth is, Americans are not this way. Surely not all of them, by any
means. We can be blunt, at times. Is this how we genuinely get along
with Middle Easterners? Absolutely not. While I do not travel there I
have worked with people from these countries all my life. I have never
seen any American this way towards them -- and never have I have such
rudeness as not just one of these characters exhibit, but multiple
ones.
Apparently, the only thing holding Saudi Arabia back from Democracy and
rights is America. Wow. News to me. And news to all of the Muslims in
Saudi Arabia who do not want women to vote. That is, all of the
religious Muslims in Arabia. Which is a lot of them.
"See No Evil" had as one of its' most important messages that by every
appearance Iran was instigating terrorism across the Middle East. This
supposedly bothered the writer because he knew people killed in these
terrorist attacks. It seems that the Iranians were very good at this
activity and worked with even Sunni groups. He also followed trails for
the Lebanese Embassy and Barracks attacks to Iran.
None of this was in the film. None of the book seems to have been in
the film. The very fact that key members of Clinton's NSC were impeding
his work was importantly unimportant to him. The villian in this film
is the Republicans. Clinton isn't even in power. The time is entirely
off. Acceptable -- but to not use anything from the book at all?
Now I have to consider that the book itself is seriously flawed, as the
author obviously is not the kind of man he claims to be within it.
Though, I would guess he is just extremely politically naive. Maybe he
felt that these strong leftists statements were not what they appeared
to be. I do not know. Or, maybe he just wanted the money and did not
ever give a damned about his dead friends or any of his work at all.
As far as plot line goes... the mystery and suspense promised was
entirely absent. Entirely absent.
Sadly, this is what they want you to hear and what is being passed as
fact today among the left. These people and their children will suffer
for it, just as we will suffer for their lies. Instead of looking at
Islamism and facing the reality of the danger posed against us... we
get into cowardly backbiting, denial, appeasement.
As the Left did with Hitler, as they did with Rwanda, so too is our
fate set. Because of their lies.
If today we started dealing with these problems with honesty, without
wicked venom, without lies... we could get somewhere.
But that, is obviously never going to happen.
I can give thanks only to God here, that there is a Hell.
