IMPORTANT: 2bin1bag process for KB

Friends

This is very important update, and hope you will read it till the end.

We have found so many residents taking undue advantage of dumping mixed garbage in stairs, and then not accepting it. So we are bound to make the process recommended in http://www.2bin1bag.in/ as mandatory. It's endorsed by BBMP and all near by NGO's, and most of our neighborhood apts are using it.

Apartment manual: http://media.wix.com/…/f55dce_88a9b56277394739b2c0843a85960…

Two main things are
- Color coded segregation of garbage and Individual pick up from each apt.
- No common dump place for anonymous residents to silently dump.

  1. We are taking out all the BINS from Stair cases, and it's a strict NO to dump garbage in Stair Case.
    2. Attached is the process to hand over the garbage to HK staff.
    3. We have used the color coded kit provided by KMB, and is available online in bigbasket. It contains two 8 lts bins of Red and Green color, and a reusable bag for dry waste. Available at around Rs 115-120.
    4. All volunteers have checked with most of the apartments and we have got 200+ orders, and we will be procuring them, and hand over to resident at the same cost by this weekend. In case you wish to order, pls contact any one of the volunteers (list is below)
    5. In case you don't want to buy this kit, pls make sure you have your current bins color coded in same way as mentioned. Color coding and segregation is a MUST, and will attract penalties if not done. We have already started non segregation fines, and will start color coding fine once we procure and deliver all the kits.
    6. HK will NOT pick up any non color coded and non segregated garbage from outside your apts from 7th Sept onwards.

You can contact below for ordering the 2bin1bag KIT by tomorrow evening(Sep 1st):

A1 Block: Harpreet (A1007) (Extension : 11007)
A2 Block: Rashmi (A411) (Extension : 10411)
B1 Block: Aradhana (B1105) (Extension : 21105)
B2 Block : Deepa (B 409) (Extension : 20409)

We know there will be some resistance to this process as it means more discipline, and may be more dustbins lying out in corridors for working couples, who leave early...and may be missing bins sometimes.... but we don't have any other option. Last two weeks in spite of so much of communication and personally meeting with residents, 15-20% are still not complying for the reasons best known to them. We are not able to fine them as they are the anonymous ones, who dump silently in stair cases.

In any case, we are checking with house keeping if they can come early to collect garbage so working couples, but it doesn't look like it is happening soon.

FYI, a lot of residents are asking question on garbage dump area behind STP, and foul smell till KB gate/road, etc... We assure you, it's being worked out in parallel, and you will get an update soon. Pls don't make it a chicken and egg issue, and help us by starting segregation in your apartment, and rest assured, our common garbage dump area will be healthy soon.

Thanks and Regards
KARMA
