In the fall of 1995 Autodesk announced a new mechanical design and drafting product called Mechanical Desktop. It combined AutoCAD Designer 2.0, AutoSurf 3.0, AutoCAD Release 13, IGES and software that tied it all together in a single integrated solution. Previously, users had to translate data to move between these applications. The intent for Mechanical Desktop was to move away from just mechanical drafting to true product design with tools incorporated to facilitate assembly modeling.

I have no doubt that Inventor will eventually be Autodesks dominant, and possibly only, 3D modeler for mechanical products. Moreover, the need for a modeler not burdened with old baggage from the AutoCAD platform is obvious. You do not, however, need to be in a hurry to jump to Inventor, especially if you are currently a Mechanical Desktop user. At this stage in the development of each program, Mechanical Desktop has a slight edge in geometry creation abilities over Inventor. Furthermore, Inventor can import Mechanical Desktop part and assembly models and retain all of their parametric features. This means that you can continue to construct Mechanical Desktop models without worrying whether or not they will become worthless in the years ahead as parametric-modeling capabilities advance and programs consolidate.

We want to thank all our customers who identified these issues and reported them to us. These reports give us the opportunity to improve the product and provide you, our customers, with the best possible solution in mechanical design. Autodesk would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued business and for the feedback regarding the content of this update release.

The DTE-03 is a wired power button with a cable length of 2 meters. It has a mechanical switch offers a pleasant keystroke feel similar to that found on mechanical keyboards. The device should be attached to an appropriate header on the motherboard and can then be used to turn it on and off. Since the connector essentially has a pass-through design, the power switch on the PC itself can also be used, reports PC Watch.

Hello friends
I have a lot of drafting by drawn mechanical desktop soft ware that these are for many years ago .
Now I want edit some of these by Auto cad soft ware.
but the auto cad dosnt have this ability.
how I can do that?

DesignSpark Mechanical is a brand-new specialist Mechanical CAD (MCAD) software built for mechanical engineers. With DesignSpark Mechanical, you can create billions of precise 3D modelling specifications for engineering and manufacturing projects to new levels of accuracy, consistency, and realism.

CAD software systems make it easy to develop precision 2D and 3D mechanical drawings ready for factory production, along with a complete package of support information, such as the manufacturing materials, technology, mould finishes, and tolerances required for production.

With a sophisticated CAD program like Design Spark Mechanical, you'll also have access to a variety of advanced and professional features (plan dependent) for 3D mechanical designs, from billions of product downloads, easy bill of materials creation, adaptable formatting, and plenty more.

To address this issue we are developing new Desktop Learning Modules (DLMs) that contain miniaturized processes with a uniquely expandable electronic system to contend with known sensor systems/removable cartridges, as well as, unknown expansions to the project. We have shown that miniaturized mimics of industrial-scale equipment produce process data that agree with correlations developed for large-scale equipment. We are now adapting concepts shown efficacious in a single chemical engineering course to a variety of engineering classes within civil, mechanical, bio- and electrical engineering. Some examples of new hands-on learning applications in chemical engineering include a boiler / condenser and evaporative and shell & tube heat exchangers.

In bioengineering, we are developing prognostic devices for separating Prostate Cancer Tumor Cells (PCTCs) from blood, sensing for the presence of PCTCs, a thermoregulation simulated limb cartridge for studying kinematics of heat flow and heat distribution in human extremities, and immunoaffinity neuron-like ion selective electrodes. In civil engineering, the DLMs illustrate open channel flow units and a solar powered Rankine cycle is underway in mechanical engineering. We are implementing DLMs along with team learning pedagogy. In this paper we will present technical aspects surrounding development of a large number of new learning cartridges. While the assessment strategies being developed are broadly applicable we will just present one instance, with the civil engineering cartridge, of the identification of misconceptions and experimental design for assessing the impact of the DLM on learning. The assessment includes a pre- and post-test assessment to determine improvement in understanding basic concepts and persistence and/or repair of misconceptions.

Fused filament fabrication (FFF) is the most common and widespread additive manufacturing (AM) technique, but it requires the formation of filament. Fused granular fabrication (FGF), where plastic granules are directly three-dimensional (3D) printed, has become a promising technique for the AM technology. FGF could be a key driver to promote further greening of distributed recycling thanks to the reduced melt solidification steps and elimination of the filament extruder system. However, only large-scale FGF systems have been tested for technical and economic viability of recycling plastic materials. The objective of this work is to evaluate the performance of the FFF and FGF techniques in terms of technical and economical dimensions at the desktop 3D printing scale. Recycled and virgin polylactic acid material was studied by using five different types of recycling feedstocks: Commercial filament, pellets, distributed filament, distributed pellets, and shredded waste. The results showed that the mechanical properties from the FGF technique using same configurations showed no statistical differences to FFF samples. Nevertheless, the granulometry could have an influence on the reproducibility of the samples, which explains that the critical factor in this technology is to assure the material input in the feeding system. In addition, FGF costs per kg of material were reduced to less than 1 /kg compared with more than 20 /kg for commercial recycled filament. These results are encouraging to foster FGF printer diffusion among heavy users of 3D printers because of reducing the cost associated to the filament fabrication while ensuring the technical quality. This indicates the possibility of a new type of 3D printing recycled plastic waste that is more likely to drive a circular economy and distributed recycling.
