other gospels of other names (mark, paul, etc.). Also, in search of the Psalms of David (Peace be upon him), I found website on Bibles. I am here to ask if someone can show me a website where I can find the most

accurate versions of these books, so that I may strengthen my knowledge of islam. I am very interested in knowing more about the Holy books of Islam. I know that the general muslim view is that there does not exist any of these

books in their original version. However, is there anything close to the original if not the original, I am still willing to read these. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

I am aware of the inaccuracy of these books but I do feel that as a muslim I am obligated to learn more about them as they are clearly mentioned as our (muslim) books in the Holy Quran. I do believe that the Holy Quran is the unchanged and accurate book of Islam, however, in the beginning of Surah Baqarah, it clearly states that we should believe in the prior revelations. I disagree with you that there is no point in reading these books, though they may have been altered, I am sure that they still hold some value or message in their verses for all muslims. I am not interested in the inaccurate or changed parts of these books, which I may never know which verses or words have been changed, but i think that if I read them with an open mind and awareness that it has in fact been changed in some ways, I will be able to decifer what is actually true and what is not by comparing verses in the Quran or analyzing these books with a mindful attitude and spirit. If you have any links to accurate/original versions of the Holy books please post them here, if there is none out there, then please show me a link to the most accurate version online. Thank you.

I mean one of the biggest differences is the start of the Bible where they say that Iblis is a "fallen angel" !!! How can an angel disobey if they do not have a free will ? you will slowly pick them all up ! i personally recommend reading the Bible (as the old testament is like the Torah/Psalms and the New Testament is like the "Injeel") according to their beliefs

The reason I became more interested in these books is because the Holy Quran clearly says that a true believer (muslim) is one who believes in the previous revelations. I was watching a movie/documentary that I had borrowed from the library in my town, I think it was called "Closer Look Inside the Quran". This movie showed how extremists and moderates and others view the Holy Quran. I suddenly noticed some problems with this video and even with some of the views inside this movie. One of the problems was that there was a man from Germany named Lex...Something, I do not remember his full name. They called him something like an Islam historian. The problem is that him and other people with no belief in the Holy book of Islam, The Quran, were in fact making assumptions about it and trying to show that it is false and corrupted by man just like other books. This was shocking to me because, in the first verse of the second surah in the Holy Quran, it clearly states: (1) This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). Baqarah 2:1. The fact that people would doubt the Holy Quran and then read this preliminary verse, continue to doubt the Holy Quran, and try to then dissprove the validity of it, really confused me. This made me realize that the Holy Quran should not be read by people who do not believe in its truth. Also it made me realize that every verse and word should be taken with great thought but not analyzed to the point of doubt and confusion. The other part of this video was when they were talking about their interpretations of the Holy Quran. Some, for example, would say that murder is good in Islam and it is the right thing to do. However, I am sure that murder is in fact a great sin and a wrongful act. This made me remember that the Holy Quran is also called Al-Furqan. The meaning of this word is to distinguish between good and bad. I think that some people lack common sense in this matter or in fact try to manipulate the meanings for their own interests. The video was not all bad however, there were some good points in it. Overall, this made me read the verses in the Holy book with more care. I began to look deeper into the meanings and this led me to the search for the previous revelations: Zabur, Tawrat, Injeel.

The book that they have now is called Torah and Bible. And I think Zaboor is called the Psalm of King David. The original versions of these books/Scrolls have perished. What you have now cannot be traced to Jesus(as), Moses(as) or David(as).

Are you saying that it is better not to read them at all? What is the ruling of this from the Shia scholars? Do these books still hold the basic message that they were intended to or are they now so far from the original message that they should not even be read at all? What I am asking is: Will the reading of these books cause more harm to me then good? Are there any facts out there such as which verses have been manipulated or changed so that I may avoid certain verses or words?

Do not criticize me like that, you don't know anything about me ok? I've read parts of the Gospels and Bible myself, and I can relate some of it to the Quran and show you how similar and close they are about some of the signs, and then i can show you how very foolish some of the words in the Bible are. i do not speak out of foolishness, I speak out of experience. Those books are not meant for Muslims to take reference from. Thats like you saying you want to read the book of the shaytan (the book of law) to strengthen your desire and knowledge towards Islam more. its wrong. We don't even understand the Quran fully to its knowledge and power, we should start with that first dont you think?

As for reading the corrupted versions, many sheikhs have said there is no harm in it, and it will definatley reinforce your faith. We can easily tell what has been changed by looking at the Quran and hadith. There are definatley little things that haven't changed and its nice to see them there, it helps you understand that Islam was always here, people just corrupted the earlier versions of it out of their own desire. I am taking a history of christianity class myself, subhanAllah thank God we have Islam.

i never said the books were authentic, i know how jammed fill with errors they are, im simply implying its important to read them, so when you do the comparisons between the 3 Books, you will understand more deeply, how much better the Quran is and you will appreciate it more !

thats all im trying to say ! I read the Bible bef i read the Quran, and to be honest it made it 90% easier for me to understand the Quran, (from what i can understand of it) esp when it comes to the older 2anbiya2 (prophets)

Couple of months ago, i came across a woman who was a christian and had reverted to Islam. I had a chat with her in detail and she said that one of the major reasons behind her change of heart was Quran. She said that Quran is word of Allah [sWT] where Bible has been altered by mankind, and she found much peace when she opened Quran for the first time in life. Allah hu Akbar, thought Id share this with my brothers and sisters.

Tawrat, sometimes spelled Taurat, is the Arabic word for Torah, which refers to the revelation by God to Moses, or Musa, on Mount Sinai. It comprises the first five books of the Old Testament, or Pentateuch. These books include Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The tawrat is referenced 18 times directly, and many more times obliquely, in statements in the Quran.

Muslims consider the Tawrat to be a holy book of Islam. But on the basis of its many translations, they allege that it is no longer available in its original form. They also note that many writers contributed to its writing, meaning that the original message communicated to Musa by Allah has been lost. On this basis, Muslims believe that the Tawrat has been corrupted, and that God revealed the Quran to Muhammad partly to correct the mistakes. This is why Muslims believe they are not required to follow all Jewish laws.

Muslims worship the God of Abraham, or Ibrahim, revealed in the Torah, Psalms and Christian Gospels. They believe that Muhammad was God's final prophet, and his final message to humanity is revealed in the Quran. Abraham is considered the Patriarch of all three monotheistic faiths. Early Muslims often exhibited profound respect for Jewish people on the basis of the shared foundational beliefs. In medieval Spain, Jews testifying in Islamic courts were permitted to swear oaths on the tawrat. The Masoretic text of the Torah, considered the traditional Hebrew version with proper pronunciation marks, was finalized by rabbis under Islamic rule in areas now part of Iraq and Palestine.

Muslims believe that the coming of the Prophet Muhammad is foretold in the Tawrat. One of the most commonly cited verses is Deuteronomy 18:18; the King James Version reads, "I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." Though Christians argue that this prophet was Jesus, Muslims cite Deuteronomy 34:12 to suggest that the Tawrt ruled out a Jewish man like Jesus: "And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face."
