Christmas – 6

Slaughter of the infants; Mathew 2; 16-18

St Paul says that it is just not enough to be a Christian but be ready to suffer.  When King Herod came to know that a new king is born for the Jews, he was afraid he would loose his kingship.  So he ordered that the infants under 2 be slaughtered. Prophesy of Jeremiah 31:15 was being fulfilled.  Rachel is the mother of all Israel.  She is weeping and lamenting for these infants.  In the book of revelation chapter 14, we find out that it is 144,000 of them.  These infants are always with our Lord, going where ever Lamb (Jesus) goes. Remember that in the OT when Moses the deliverer had to be born, the midwifes were paid to kill all the male children of Israelites.

Do you think King Herod was a bad Guy?

My dear reader, have you killed some one because that child would damage your status or your freedom etc.  Have you committed the murder in most holly place?  The place, that is cleansed by blood every month.  Have you noticed that this cleansing is only for humans; whom God created in his own image and likeness?   Have you assisted murdering someone at his most trusted place, his mother’s womb?  If your own infant child can’t trust you, how trustworthy are you?  If your heart is broken, ‘REPENT’.  The blood of the cross is enough to cleanse you unconditionally.

The souls of these and other martyrs are pleading with Jesus to avenge their blood. Rev 6:9-11.  No mercy at judgment.  Our God is a just God.  He has to be just to the blood of these infants and the tears of their mothers.

Thanks, Chemmachen
