Dear Friends,

Producing TV Serial is a money making business. They will pick any subject and make their own stories; They bring women characters to make the people to feel sympathy on those characters and eventually make them addicted to watch those shows.

When they ran out of subject, they will bring religious characters and will try to make it as a hit.
Hello Kuttichathan is the worst character they have ever invented.

The main chsractoes in this Serial are children. Children love to see shows which has children as charactors.  Industrial Psychologists are well aware of this fact. So they use children as charactors in many commercial advertisement. If you get the attention of a child to a particular product, the company wins. He will choose the same product for the rest of his life. We should know this influence when watching this Serial called Hello Kuttichathan
The problem is this:

It will bring bad impact on children. They start to think that  something is there which is supernatural; something which has power; which can be used when we need  help.
It lead them to the belief that spirit of the dead people are out there. It create fear in their mind;
This leads to a greater problem; they will undermined the Power and Sovereignty of the Almighty God.
THE CHILDREN'S ATTENTION DEVIATE FROM THE REAL GOD TO UNREAL SUPERNATURAL BEING; AND IT WILL LEAD TO WORSHIPING  SUCH THINGS. It should not happen. In a world where Satanic worship is prevalent, and when  fear and need in a person grows, he may tend to follow such worships.
Christian churches, especially Evangelical Churches in the States strongly recommend their church members from buying and reading the Best Seller in the world called  .Harry Porter   Series. These books has such influence. Simpson's and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle are known for their violent characters. Educators recommend to avoid watching these shows.

So I strongly recommend the families who have children to avoid watching this serial called Kuttychathan. Chathan seva is sorcery and many such practices comes Sama Veda, one of the Hindu Epics.
I request all the church leaders, the Bishops and Pastors to send circulars to their churches to encourage them to avoid ( not to watch)  this show

Thanks

Dear Fr.Chacko,

It is a very good advice, especially in this day of
age where kids or even adults are addicted to TV.

Reverend Father, Thank you for this valuable piece of advice.

At the same time i feel that we live in a world where we cannot police
around or censor contents becasue we are bombarded with information
through several media. If a circular is sent across, then the chances
are more that our children will start watching it more eagerly for
they will be aware of the fact that there is something sensuous hidden
in it. This is the new generation phychology. the more you ban it, the
more attractive it becomes to them.
After all we are all children of Adam and Eve who eagerly stretched
their hands to the banned fruits.

My children watch it once in a while and when they asked me more about
kuttichattan i told them these all are fictions and now i have noticed
that once in a while they watch it and take it as an entertainment
only. They rather watch more frequently "St.Antony and Velankanni
Mathavu" becasue i have told them that they are real life characters.

So it is more about guidance than enforcement.

Rev. Father;

Your suggestion is very appropriate and timely. I have seen a boy in my neighbourhood terribly frightend and weeping and covering his face in the sofa while others were watching this serial.

It shows how far it has got its effect on children.  So let all our people take good care of this subject and save their children from this type of phycological hazards.

love to all

Sajan,

What you said is correct and is good for those in their teenage or
older. But, as for smaller kids, it's the responsibility of the parents
to guide them on what is good and bad. When they grow up to maturity,
they know what is good for them and will take care of it by themselves.
But, until then, I believe parents must assume this responsibility. I'm
also a father of 3 yr old and generally I decide what he should and
should not watch on TV now. I know, that would not / cannot be the case
once he grows up.

God Bless,

Sajan Thomas / New Jersey

Dear Brothers,

the reverend father in the best sense has said certain things about a particular serial and now it is for the parents and others to decide what to do. I am sure it was with the best of intentions that the address was made by him. So why should we make it an issue here. There are many more better subjects to dissect and analyse than this today. We , many a times spensd a lot of time on  issues that need not have so much of criticism and corrections when our Samudayam is faced with a lot of issues that even can lead to the disintegartion of this lovely community.

Warm Regards

You are right Roby Stephen, no need of discussing trivial matters but
we have to take reverend father's suggestion in good spirit.

But what you have told has got 1000 intrinsic meanings. "when our
Samudayam is faced with a lot of issues that even can lead to the
disintegartion of this lovely community" this needs to be addressed.

A new association is about to start.Lot of under currents are going on
which will manifest in the coming days. let us wait and watch & if
needed ACT to save the community from disintegration. Now many may
question about the word "Disintegration" & what is the basis of
quoting such an extreme word. god forbid such a thing happens in our
community, but we have to be extremely careful against any such move
from any quarters. The answers will emerge automatically in the months
to come.- Sajan Mathew.

dear sajan,

What I meant by the extreme word Disintegration was meant that way only. If you take most of the religions especially within Christianity, the different denominations came up from one common christianity , but currently practising different rites , rituals and practices. If you shelve deep into the root cause of all these, you find few individuals often top clergy wanting to grab power turning it into power politics and founding a different denomination , though the apparent reasons cited may be something else which they as well as those that hear these know as untrue.

In our Samudayam also ( appeal to our brotheren not to use the term Sabha as being wrongly used by many- we are part of the Syrian Orthodox Church or Sabha and not a separate church, though autonomous in our rites and practises), the signs of the above paragraph seems to be budding. if these are not nipped in the bud itself, they will turn into gargantuan shapes that can engulf the whole community, which then might (touchwood it does not happen) result in that extreme word that I used.

Secondly as we see, most of today's younger generation are not interested in spending so much time on all these since they have much more important things like their career , life etc in this much faster world and they can't be blamed. Once they are subjected in one way or the other to all these issues and power politics, they become frustrated and resort to joining other churches including the pentecostal and marrying from other communities and venturing out into a much wider and expansive society as they look at it. this will also amount to contribute towards disintegration of the Samudayam which our forefathers have built up with such care .

The current happenings at the ruling (it shd be serving, ideally) levels including some of the top clergy engaging in political and selfish moves and not towards improving the community was what prompted me to react that way. Hope others with similar thoughts or would like to think for the community might take up and build into a momentum that can power the voice into the decision making forums

Regards
