Hi All,
There have been a few people having problems getting their particular
IP cameras working with kmotion, both on this list and off it.
Most IP cameras can be made to work and its usually a URL issue. IP
cameras have several URL's, pointing to the general setup page, PTZ
page, raw image page and some hidden pages. Its usually a case of
educated guesses and trial and error to get the correct page.
If anyone has an issue I am happy to help, in the past I have had long
email chains trying to help but found the fastest and easiest is to do
the following.
Contact me at
dave...@gmail.com,
Port forward the camera you are having problems with and email me with
its WAN IP and username and password if needed. I will have a look and
do my best to email you back the config you need. Then cancel the port
forwarding severing the link.
On a privacy note, I do not need an image, there is no problem with
putting a cover over the camera if you are concerned and as for
security.
On a security note the port forwarding allows me to access the camera
only, I can't access the rest of your network so you are secure. If
you are really concerned then by all means switch off the rest of your
PC's on the network.
Anyhow I hope this helps :)
Cheers
Dave (Developer of kmotion v1 & v2)
