to KML Developer Support - Third Party Applications

Does anyone know which file (on your hard drive) esri uses to create
the KML file? I have found a few different ones

C:\Program Files\Arcgis\bin\kmlconverter.dll
C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\bin\kmlLayer.dll

I am trying to manipulate this file so i can add a <Placemark id="">
field within the KML file it creates so i can link features.
