Hi All,

I am a beginner and and trying to see if there is way for me to
convert a MapInfo (.TAB) file to a .KML, so that I can load it into
google maps in a browser.

Thank you,

To convert a Mapinfo TAB file into a KML can be done inside of MapInfo
(I have version 8.5).
Use the Tool Manager to load the Google Earth Connection Utility
inside of MapInfo.
Then you make sure you have the MapInfo Tools toolbar loaded. The
Google Earth button is
the one that looks like a globe with blue oceans. Alternatively you
can use Map Menu Item
and then Select the Google Earth Link menu item at the bottom and the
Export menu item.
You can export in two different ways. If you do not select the
objects you wish to export MapInfo
will simply export an image overlay. If you do select the object you
with to export prior to pressing
the Google Earth Export button it will export your items in vector
format into a KML.

You can also use the MapInfo Universal Translator Tool to convert from
TAB to SHP files and vice versa.
There are free utilities available that allow you to convert to an
from SHP files to KML files.
If you use AutoCAD Map there is a utility you can download to help
exporting to KML files and AutoCAD Map
comes natively with the ability to read and write SHP files.

Hi Sandreev,

there is a new program called 4MAT2KML that translates
shapefiles into KML format.

Please visit the site www.G-teksolutions.com
The program will be available in May

Hi,
We are using Aexio Xeus Pro to post-process our drive test log and
generate 3D plot in Google Earth. It has a free version that can
generate the Network in 3D. Here is the link htpp://www.aexio.com

Cheers/Tony
