Heat Map Tool

Hi,
Is there any simple tool out there that creates a heatmap from a kml
file.
I just need something simple that creates an overlay from calculating
density of placemarks in the kml file.
I've looked around but haven't been able to find any straightforward
tool.

I had the same problem some weeks ago and I solve it with an
adaptation of this PHP class:

this service is primarily intended to map clicks in webpage but this
class can read a txt or csv file and make a png of your geo data

its a good way to try.
