Hello,

it says in the KML Documentation Introduction that "You can create KML files with the Google Earth user interface,..."

I made a ground overlay in Google Earth which I want to export to a kml-file.

However, I cannot find any interface in Google Earth which lets me export or even create KML files.

Is this feature only part of Google Earth Pro?
Where and/or how can I export the ground overlay I have created?

Thank you for your answers!

Best Regards,

Hi,

Construct whatever you want in MyPlaces pane and then highlight the
feature (be that a single Placemark/Overlay etc or a Folder with
multiple features in it) and then either right-click and Save Place As
or from the File Menu - Save - Save Place As.

You can either save as a KML or a KMZ. If you're using Overlays KMZ is
a better option as the resultant file will include the image files -
and KML will not include them and would have references in it to your
local file system which makes sharing the file problematic.

Hope that helps
