How can I calculate <north> <south> <west> <east> values of LatLonBox
given the gps Lat/Lon values of the image using standard trigonometry?

Thanks

Don't understand the question. If you've got the GPS coordinates of
the image, which part are you having trouble with?

I am using the image in KML groundoverlay, I have the Lat/Lon
coordinates but I don't have the values for the LatLonBox element of
the ground overlay, I would like to know how to calculate these values
from what I have (the Lat/Lon coordinates and the heading).

Use the GE desktop client. Add the image as Image Overlay then size
and orient to your needs. Before clicking OK, go to the Location tab
to get the values of interest.
