I have several kmz files each containing a number of pictures/text
points. They work fine.
I would like to combine the files into one kmz file and then later
adding more pictures/text points to it.
Is this possible?
I am really a novice with my focus on my content rather than the
technicalities of displaying it. I have no knowledge of coding and
would be grateful for very simple advice.

Create a folder im My Places, name it whatever you want, drag the KML
files into that folder. You can continue to add kml in the same way
and when your ready you can save the folder and its contects as a kmz
file by right clicking on the folder and selecting 'Save Place As...'.

Thank you for that GS - what do I do to add to the kmz after it has
been created as you describe? The new pictures will be part of a
continuing project.

If I understand you correctly you just need to create new placemarks
containing the images and text within the folder you have created. The
new place marks will become part of the KML structure describing the
folder and its contents. Does that help?

So the whole process is:

1. Create a folder in the ‘Places’ panel. (click on 'My Places'
select right mouse > Add > Folder)Name the folder.
2. Drag existing kml (Placemarks) into that folder
3. Select the folder
4. Create a new placemark within the new folder and add the content
(images and text).
5. Keep adding Placemarks…

When you save the folder (if you need to) make sure you save it as a
kmz then the images will be included I the file. You won’t need to
save the folder if you are not going to share it.
