I have been approached by my boss who would like some help mapping the territory of a franchisee. Using google earth Pro I need to map a continuous line 500' off of a major interstate (Specifically the north end of I-285 in Atlanta, GA). Any suggestions how this can be automated?
Thank you,
David

Bump... Is this the right section of the forum to be asking this? To clarify, I am attempting to offset the path of an interstate by 500'. Because the interstate curves over long distances, it would take tremendous effort to do this by hand.
I am thinking is might be possible to capture the KLM Data that dictates a road's location (road overlay) and offset it by 500'?
Thank you

Hi scherermaddness,
If you mean the roads that appear in the Layers pane, no, there's no way to do this. There's no way to interact with the data in the Layers pane through KML.

Hello,
One option may be to look for road-network GIS data, which you could process. The road data in GE appears to be provided by Navteq (http://www.navteq.com/), although I'm sure there will be plenty of others...
