Using GE Pro 616

I want to draw a path and fly along it at a set altitude.

I add a new path, set the altitude for say 10000.

In Options/Control, my camera tilt is 80 degrees.

The path line is high above the ground at 10000, the level I wish the camera to travel.

At this point it doesn’t matter if my altitude setting is Clamped, Relative or Absolute, when I “play” the path the camera drops to ground level and begins travelling.

Am I missing a step?

globalbc,

The tour height is a setting in your Google Earth Options and, unfortunately, has nothing to do with the altitude in your path. To change the default:

1. Click "Tools> Options...". This causes the Google Earth Options Window to appear.
2. Click on the third tab "Control"
3. Check the advanced button in the lower left hand corner, directly above "Reset to Defaults." This will cause the window to expand.
4. The bottom section "Driving Directions Tour Options" you can change the behavior of touring a line string path.
Note: you can use the sliders or directly type the values in the text box.
5. Click "OK"

This is a constant altitude for the entire tour. Here is another post talking about the same thing.

Hope this helps.

I'm trying to do the same thing globalpc was trying to do... i went to the control options but i don't see any place to set the "tour height" altitude. All I see are "camera tilt angle", "camera range", and "speed". Am I missing something here? All I'm trying to do is emulate the view a pilot would see flying at approx. 10,000 feet. Help! i've been on the board for hours now and still can't find a solution.
