Import KML

So I made this map by hand:

I was really please with it.

Then I downloaded the KML.

I did nothing to the file - no editing.

I made a new map.

I imported the previously downloaded kml and I got this:

Notice how even the google supplied pin has the wrong shadow?

And of course my nice icon is squashed to 32x32.

Is that just the way it is? Is the ''import kml" function that useless?

Yep.

Pretty much yes. 

Google have all but abandoned the 'Custom Maps' feature on Google Maps, even they admit how bad it is.
