I seem to have hit a limit on either the filesize or the number of coordinates in a KML file. I'm building a KML file of the Appalachian trail. The GIS coordinate file is about 8 megs. I haven't counted how many coordinates that is.
What seems to happen is if the file is bigger than about 1.5 megs the path doesn't show up in Google earth. Has anyone else experienced this, Is this a bug?

If you have more that 64K points in a single linestring or poly, there will be problems drawing it. This is a limitation of most graphics APIs and GE doesn't try to workaround the problem. 1.5M ASCII might be near that limit...
The workaround is to break it up into multiple linestrings in KML.
