[kml-support] difference gogole maps google earth

Hi,

i set up a kml, but the point is wrong at google earth, but right at
maps

http://maps.google.com/?q=http://www.up2ticket.de/kml/1.kml

but if you import ist to google earth the pointer is far away!!

i read that in need cs litte converion for google earth is this
correct

Linux,
I loaded the google map page with the link you provided and toggled
between satellite and Earth. The point appears to be in the same
location. Are you referring to the difference between satellite
imagery in the background overlaid on street map (line data)?
It's interesting that that the imagery (satellite) and street map
(line data) are so off in your case. I am not sure which one is more
recent but I think satellite base map is outdated (which is almost
always true). But that doesn't mean it's wrong. I'd just consider the
street map and satellite views being 2 difference data sources and
they have to be slightly different. In your case, I estimate the
difference is roughly 10 meters (from eyeballing). The only way to
know the right one is to use a defense satellite and callibrate it
with that :)
On a side note, is L25 an underground by-pass? It looks kinda nice
with less roads (well hidden anyhow). I think US should have more
roads like that.
