KML URL for Google Earth Gadget

No matter how many times I have tried, I cannot get the right URL into the KML URL Gadget setting box for the Google Earth Embedded Tour Gadget. When I uploaded my KML file to Google Drive/Docs and went to the download page for that file, right-clicking the "download" button in Firefox, like the tutorial suggests, does not give me the "copy the link" feature that the google forum suggests it will give me. So HOW DO I GET THE URL FOR MY KML FILE?? The URL I keep getting is for the Google doc page that contains the download feature for the file...I need the URL of the actual file download so that the gadget will access the download, not the google doc page.

Please help!

Unfortunatly that article is outdated. Left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. 

Google Docs has been updated so that getting the URL to the file is hard. They have probably done it deliberately because so many 'abuse' Google Docs as free file hosting. (but that is what it is!)
