Welcome to the latest edition of KMaiL, a weekly e-mail update from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.

- - KML HIGH SCHOOL NEWS AND INFORMATION - -

= CALL NEWS =
KML Superintendent David Bartelt has received a divine call to serve as the principal of Evergreen Lutheran High School in Tacoma, WA.  Please keep Mr. Bartelt and his family in your prayers as he deliberates where he can best serve the Lord.
The Lord has led Mr. Joshua Schoeneck to decline the divine call he received from Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in Greenville, WI, to serve as their Technology Director.  He will continue to serve at KML as the Director of Technology and teacher and next year to begin his additional role as Registrar in the Student Services department.

= MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE! =
Did you know you can give a gift in honor of a graduating student or teacher as a new Builder and KML will receive an additional $500 from an anonymous donor as a thank you for your gift?   Your gift of $5, $50 or $500 per month will qualify for an additional donor gift of $500 to KML!  Visit our web site www.kmlhs.org/autogift where you can sign up right online or print the form to mail it in.  Your gift will honor our Lord and advance His ministry.  What a Joyful Noise we can make as God’s chosen people.

= KML ATAXIA SOCCER GAME =

The Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School Girls Soccer Team will be showing their support for Ataxia and former coach Barry Washburn at their May 15 game against the Winnebago Lutheran Academy by wearing blue wristbands, distributing ataxia information, and accepting donations to the National Ataxia Foundation. Go Team KML!

= CHARGER CHOICE AWARDS =
The KML Charger Club and Student Council will be hosting the 17th Annual Charger Choice Awards Saturday, May 16 at 6:30pm in the Performing Arts Center. Students receiving academic, athletic, music, or leadership awards during the year as well as class of 2015 scholarship recipients, seniors graduating with honors or high honors and students receiving
state gold placings in music or forensics will be recognized.

= SEMESTER EXAM SCHEDULE =
Semester exams take place Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21. Following is the schedule for those two days:
   Wednesday, May 20: Periods 8, 7, 6, and 5 (7:40 – 1:55)
   Thursday, May 21: Periods 4, 3, 2, and 1 (7:40 – 1:55)
Our food services program will be operating on Wednesday, but students will have to bring a lunch on Thursday as there will be no hot lunch. All students are required to be in attendance for each period, including study hall. Students may be excused from study hall only if it is the last period of the day and only with a note from parents to Pastor Hughes prior to the test period. Riteway and Johnson buses will leave at 2:15 both days.

= GRADUATION =
Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School will hold its thirty-ninth graduation service on Saturday, May 23, at 10:30am. Pastor Charles Raasch of Morning Star, Jackson will be the guest preacher. Pastor Philip Malchow of KML will be the liturgist. Student graduation speakers are Samantha Paton (St. John’s, Lannon) and Joseph Loescher (David’s Star, Jackson). The doors to the building will open at 9:00am. All friends of KML are invited to attend.

= URGENT NEED FOR HOST FAMILIES =
KML is in need of host families for two new male students from China for the next school year. One will be a freshman who has already spent a year in the US at an area WELS grade school. The other will be a sophomore and new to the US. Both students are eager to meet their new host families and hope to get to know them over the summer by email and Skype. Host families receive a stipend to cover expenses.  If your family is able to fill this urgent need or is interested in learning more, please contact Wendy Robinson at wendy.r...@kmlhs.org

= INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM COORDINATOR JOB OPENING =

The KML administration is searching for a new coordinator of our international student program. This role will combine two current positions into one. The position has three main duties: 1) secure housing for our international students, 2) manage the government required paperwork, and 3) oversee the academic progress and assimilation of our international students. The position may require a 20-25 hours per week commitment. A position description is available at www.kmlhs.org/about_kml/job_openings.  Contact Superintendent David Bartelt for more information (262-677-4051 or david....@kmlhs.org).  Applicants should submit resumes by Friday, May 22, 2015 to Superintendent David Bartelt at david....@kmlhs.org.

= S(ubstitute) C(ash) R(ebate) I(ncentive) P(rogram) =
It's that time of year again. May not only brings blooming flowers, but Mother's Day, Confirmation, and Graduation. Start thinking about those parties and gifts, and stock up on the scrip cards you will need to help make your shopping a little bit easier. It's also time to get outside and start the clean up around your home by planting floors, putting on a fresh coat of paint around the house, putting in that new patio you've been talking about, or a host of other great outdoor things. Scrip cards from Home Depot and Menards or even Fleet Farm can help you take care of all these things too.
Next time you stop in the Scrip office be sure to pick up your end of the year statement showing how much credit you've earned towards your child's tuition.
Please note the Scrip office will be open on Friday, May 22nd from 9-1 even though school is not in session. Summer office hours begin on Wednesday, May 27th and run until Friday, August 21st.
For more information visit www.kmlhs.org/scrip.  For questions call 262-677-4051 x1119 or email sc...@kmlhs.org. Scrip Office Hours are: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 - 3. CLOSED TUESDAY.
