KMaiL
April 10, 2015

Welcome to the latest edition of KMaiL, a weekly e-mail update from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.

- - KML HIGH SCHOOL NEWS AND INFORMATION - -

= MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE! =

Because of the sacrificial pledges through auto withdrawals, we have 162 members in the Builders Program totaling $6214 per month.  Every Builder (auto-withdrawal donor) can qualify for an additional donor gift of $500 to KML, when they set up a new account or increase their existing gift!  Visit our web site www.kmlhs.org/autogift where you can sign up right online or print the form to share with others.   The Joyful Noise of your support provides sustainability to carry out the ministry at KMLHS.

= JOIN US TONIGHT FOR FAMILY MUSIC FEST! =
We’re going retro this year for Family Music Fest 2015! Remember Echo Fest? Do you still have an old Echo Fest admission button floating around? Please come tonight, Friday, April 17, from 5:00-9:00 pm for RetroFest. This event will support our music department. In addition to our elementary school and high school musical performances, we will feature a chili dinner, games, auctions, and the dessert bar and will showcase the KML Schools Fine Arts Exhibition. Join us for a night of music, food, and family fun with some new surprises, special guests, and trips down memory lane. New this year: a celebrity chili cook-off contest. You be the judge and choose your favorite!
Admission is $5 for adults, and children/teens are free. Tickets will be sold for $.50 each for food, beverages, and games. The chili dinner is $7. Two dinner tickets are $13, and two adult combo tickets (2 admissions/2 dinners) can be purchased for $22. The dinner will be served from 5:00-7:30 pm. Anyone presenting an Echo Fest button at the door will receive free admission!
All NHS members have been scheduled to work for children’s games, coat check, distribution of food, and also to make a dessert donation for the dessert bar (a disposable container of cookies or bars).

= BASKETS AND PIES STILL NEEDED FOR FAMILY MUSIC FEST TONIGHT! =
Donations of pies and baskets are such a huge part of Family Music Fest! It’s not too late to donate a pie or basket for auction! If you can donate any of these items, please bring them right to the event tonight. If you have questions, please contact Michelle Mueller at 414-333-7681 or muel...@charter.net.

= BLOOD DRIVE =

The KML National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive through the Blood Center of Wisconsin on Wednesday, April 22, 8:00am - 1:00pm.  You may register to donate blood by calling KML at 262-677-4051.

=HOST FAMILIES NEEDED =
As the end of the school year approaches, we are still in need of host families for some of next year’s international students. Would you please consider hosting a student next year? Students arrive in August and stay until the end of May. Host families are responsible for providing housing, transportation, and meals outside of home. Students have their own health insurance and spending money. Host families receive a stipend for their expenses. Some of our new students are Christians whose families are craving a Christian education not available in their country. What a blessing we have here at KML to be able to provide this for our own children and for theirs! Others will be learning about Christianity for the first time. Please consider helping us serve these families. Contact Wendy Robinson at wendy.r...@kmlhs.org or 262-677-4051 x1111 for more information.

= QUILTERS' CAFE =

KMLHS is hosting another Quilters' Cafe on May 2-3rd, 2015.  We are looking for volunteers for this fun event.  Volunteers are needed for 2 hour shifts and will receive a FREE lunch and FREE admission to the Quilters' Cafe.  Ticket sellers and kitchen help are needed to staff the event from 8-5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Do you enjoy baking?  We also need donations of desserts to sell at this event.  We are looking for tortes, pies, and cakes.  NO bars or cookies.  Desserts go for $3.00 a piece, so think of what you might see at a bakery.  It doesn’t have to be time consuming.  If it looks good and tastes good, it will sell.  These women are looking for something they wouldn’t get every day like a brownie or chocolate chip cookie.  Any German desserts like Schaum Torte go well.

If interested in helping, please call Sarah Rabas (414-526-2374) or Amy Schulz (262-224-5581).

= E3 - KML SUMMER ACADEMY =

KML will be hosting various academic, fine arts, and sports camps this summer for both youth and adults. Please pass the information on to friends and family that would be interested in attending. Camp flyers and registration forms are available in the rack outside the KML main office, from your elementary school office, or on our website at kmlhs.org/e3 .

= FALL MUSICAL - BYE BYE BIRDIE =
The KMLHS fall musical is Bye Bye Birdie! Performances will take place October 27 - November 1, 2015. The show takes place in a small-town high school (sound familiar???), and it requires a BIG cast, so you don't want to miss out on auditioning for this show!
Auditions will take place on Sunday, May 3 (5:00-9:00 p.m.) and Tuesday, May 5 (4:30-7:30 p.m.) and are open to any students currently in grades 8-11, who plan to attend KML in the fall. Current 8th graders should contact Mrs. Erin Laabs directly (erin....@kmlhs.org) to set up an audition time and obtain audition materials. Current 9th-11th graders should sign up for an audition time outside room 1136.
More information about the show, rehearsal schedule, and auditions can be found at www.kmlhs.org/dramaPlease contact Mrs. Erin Laabs (erin....@kmlhs.org) with any questions.

= S(ubstitute) C(ash) R(ebate) I(ncentive) P(rogram) =
What a great year we had in the Scrip office. We sold just under $1.5 million in gift cards to our families, earning them over $53,000 in tuition credit for their current or future KML student. What an amazing blessing for them all. It's never to late to start utilizing Scrip to help defray the cost of tuition at KML. It's easy too! You just need to start planning for your everyday purchases like gas and groceries and you can see the savings add up.
Please note that the Scrip office will be closed on Friday, April 24th for the Junior/Senior Banquet and Kindergarten Fun N Fitness day. So plan ahead.
For more information visit www.kmlhs.org/scrip.  For questions call 262-677-4051 x1119 or email sc...@kmlhs.org. Scrip Office Hours are: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 - 3. CLOSED TUESDAY.
