Welcome to the latest edition of KMaiL, a weekly e-mail update from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.
-- KML HIGH SCHOOL NEWS AND INFORMATION --
= JOINT HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT =
There will be a joint concert featuring the Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble of Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School and the Croixaliers and Crusader Band of St. Croix Lutheran High School from West St. Paul, Minnesota. The program will contain a mix of sacred and secular music. The concert begins at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 14. in the KML gymnasium. A free-will donation will be taken.
We are still in need of people to house pairs of visiting students from St. Croix. You would need to pick the students up from KML around 11:00pm on Saturday, February 13, take them to church with you on Sunday morning, feed them lunch and then bring them back to KML around noon. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Mrs. Laabs at ela...@kmlhs.org .
= SELF STUDY VISITATION TEAM ON CAMPUS =
We will be visited by eight educators from various schools from Wisconsin on February 15 -17th. This Visitation Team will validate our self study that launched in the spring of 2009. Our own self study committees compared and evaluated the ministry of KML with over 200 quality indicators. They have created an extensive list of commendations and recommendations. The Visitation Team will add their recommendations from an “outsider’s” viewpoint.
It is our hope to be accredited once again by the Wisconsin Religious and Independent School Accreditation organization (WRISA). The recommendations will shape a long range school improvement plan that will guide our Board of Directors for the next five to seven years.
During this process next week our teachers, staff, parents, and students may be interviewed and observed. Please give them full cooperation a Christian welcome. You are all invited to hear the summary report of the Visitation Team on Wednesday afternoon, February 17 (time tba).
May God bless our efforts to strive for excellence in Christian education. If you have any questions please contact David Bartelt, Superintendent at 262.677.8483 x1110.
= SPECIAL EVENT GAME =
We would like to invite all KMLHS students, parents, alumni, and grade school students to a special basketball game on Friday, February 26 at 7:30 pm. The award winning Eagle Cheer and Stunt Team from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, including alum Ariel Abel ('09), will help the cheerleaders and dance team cheer on the girl’s varsity basketball team to a victory over conference rival North Fond du Lac. The co-ed cheer and stunt team will be helping with pre-game, quarter, and timeout performances. They will also perform an exciting routine at halftime. We would love to see the stands packed full of KML fans!
= KML RECRUITMENT EVENT FOR GRADES 4-6 =
Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School is inviting the 4-6 grade students and parents from all of our WELS schools in the KML federation to a special recruitment event at the Four Points Sheraton in Brown Deer beginning at 1:30pm on Saturday, February 27. Because of the generosity of one of our KML families, supervised swimming for federation 4-6 grade students will be provided. However, students must bring at least one of their parents in order to participate in this fun-filled afternoon. Parents, we want to use the time together to share information with you about the awesome ministry that is taking place each day at KMLHS. Please RSVP by February 13. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Mr. Jerry Zeamer at gze...@kmlhs.org or 262-677-4051 x1124.
= KML FEBRUARY SCRIP PROMOTION =
Scrip is a way to earn credit towards a current or future student’s tuition account at KML. KML purchases gift cards at a discount and then sells them to KML supporters at face value. This also generates support for tuition assistance and other school programs.
During the month of February, anyone who places a Scrip order and pays thru PrestoPay will have their name put in a drawing to receive a free $25 Speedway/SuperAmerica gift card. The winner will be announced the first week in March. PrestoPay is a safe, convenient way to pay for your order as funds are automatically deducted from your checking account. Ordering thru PrestoPay helps keep KML administrative costs down and allows you to place an order and pay for it any time of day.
The Scrip Office is also starting to keep an inventory of some of the more popular cards on hand for immediate purchase. Scrip Office hours are Monday and Wednesday 7:30 am – 2:00 pm and Friday 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. For a complete list of available cards, to place an order, or for more information, go to www.kmlhs.org/scrip.
