Dear Kehilat Moreshet Avraham,

This Shabbat, Parashat Korach, June 13, we will begin a new tradition at Kehilat Moreshet Avraham: “The Heroes Behind the Scenes,” an annual appreciation Shabbat dedicated to honoring the devoted volunteers whose quiet work sustains and strengthens our community.

This year, we are honored to recognize and thank the dedicated members of our Chessed Committee, with special appreciation to their wonderful chair, Natalie Mendelson.

So much of the strength of our community is carried quietly and faithfully by those who care for others, visit, cook, support, organize, accompany, and make sure that no one feels alone. Their work reflects the beautiful words we say in our Shabbat prayers:

“And all those who faithfully occupy themselves with the needs of the community — may the Holy One reward them.”

Please join us as we express our gratitude and appreciation.
