I’m looking for a graduate student, preferably at the PhD level, who
would be interested in conducting research/development on "situation
sensemaking" for a period of 6 month at a well know software company
in Palo Alto, California. The starting date can range from mid May to

The following is a list of qualifications required:
1) Research experience in one or more of the following fields:
- Sensemaking, situation awareness, mental modeling
- Cognitive science, cognitive computing, macrocognition, human-
centered computing
- AI and machine learning
- Intelligent software agents
- Semantic processing of information, knowledge modeling, knowledge-
based systems
2) General Qualifications:
- Computer science major or engineering or other related fields
- Considerable hands-on programming experience in Java and familiarity
with other object-oriented and scripting languages
- Prior experience with working in the Eclipse IDE environment
- Prior experience in developing user-centric software applications
- Preferably a graduate student who has completed his or her course
work and is looking for a research topic to work on
- Preferably interested in writing graduate thesis on the topic of
Sensemaking
- Good communication skills in English
- Prior hands-on experience with Google Web Toolkit is a plus
